The Talibornagains are pressing Bush already
Bob Jones Sees Bush Win As 'Reprieve'

Fri Nov 12,12:25 AM ET

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Bob Jones III, president of the fundamentalist college that bears his name, has told President Bush (news - web sites) he should use his electoral mandate to appoint conservative judges and approve legislation "defined by biblical norm."

"In your re-election, God has graciously granted America — though she doesn't deserve it — a reprieve from the agenda of paganism," Jones wrote Bush in a congratulatory letter posted on the university's Web site.

"You have been given a mandate. ... Put your agenda on the front burner and let it boil. You owe the liberals nothing. They despise you because they despise your Christ," said the letter, dated Nov. 3.

A White House spokesman said he didn't know whether the president had seen the letter.

1. If this were truly a Pagan nation, we'd be better off.

6. LOL!
What's truly funny is that the far RW don't yet realize the saps they've been played for.

Sure, bushco will throw them an occasional bone when it will cost them nothing politically, but the looming specter of civil war within their own party drops them nicely twixt the devil and the deep blue sea.

Appease the wingnuts? The center cannot hold.
Play to the moderates? Watch the wingnuts defect.

4. Great! Let's have as much publicity as possible.
Let's hear from Bob Jones, III, & all the extreme politically-active Fundamentalists. There are Christian Reconstructionalists who probably consider Bob just a bit liberal.

Many of the voters with "moral values" concerns find these guys extreme. And the not-so-religious Republicans will find them frightening. They're all on the same team, now. Let's see how well they can get along.

5. "They despise you because they despise your Christ."
Absolutely!

Of course, *Bush's Christ (Anointed One) has nothing to do with Jesus of Nazareth.

Bush's Christ is self-serving, self-centered and concerned about nothing but power and money. Sure, he has to placate a few crazies by pretending to support their "Talibornagain" agenda, but that is a small price to pay as long as it does not interfere with his true financial and power brokers.
