Civil war in the G.O.P

When I am typing in my room, I have my 1970’s Toshiba radio on. It only gets AM radio. So my choice of programming is very limited. All I get is right wing talk show.
Right wing radio is like porn. It is all the same. They all say the same damn thing. They say the same jargon and buzz phrases. It doesn’t matter if you listen to Hannity, O’Reilly, Limbaugh, Savage, or even Dennis Pregger; it’s all scripted by the ministry of propaganda of the Republican Party. Oh, they have different styles but they say the same thing. Some claim they are independent, but that is a cover up. A content litany I hear now is about America is in a civil war. This erroneous proclamation is plain old fashion dog shit. 51% may have voted from their fears, but this is not a mandate for the Neo-Con counter-revolution. The American right is under delusional euphoria from the presidential national election victory. However, may it be known, the official party of the ruling class is fragmenting. Let us put it in perspective. The only time Americans are Democrats or Republicans is in the voting booth. Very rarely Americans go to party meetings. The activists of either party do go to party meetings. The lowest participation in party activism was the former Soviet Union. Nobody wanted to attend a Communist Party meeting. The Republican Party is being targeted by right wing groups for their sick agenda. The central committee of the party tries to placate each group by putting that groups demands in the party platform. So, what you get is a mixture of free-market economics and white Christian Puritanical metaphysics. Sorry, Capitalism and Christian morality don’t mix. You can’t be a solider for Christ on Sunday then be a slumlord on Monday.
There are 5 groups fighting for control of the GOP. 1: Neo-Cons: they now control the leadership of the party. These are nuts who want America to be another Roman Empire. 2: Paleo-Cons: These are antiquated conservatives who hold on to the 19th century belief of Isolationism. 3: The Religious right: These are Protestant fundamentalists who want America to be a Christian police state. 4: Libertarian / Conservatives: They want a quasi-Libertarian Society where everything is privatized.
5: Normal traditional Republicans: They want lower taxes and support American defense.
If you notice lately, Bush wants to privatize Social Security. See number 4. Plus he wants to stop Gay Marriage. See number 3. And he wants to start a war with Iran. See number 1. Plus he wants to lower taxes. See number 5. Well…as you well know, you can’t please everybody. These are groups vying for total control of the party. Guess who going to win? The Neo-Cons. They got the support of major corporations and the WASP rich pigs.
And who knows? Some blood shed may be spilled. I give the GOP 2 more years.

1. Oh yeah, they are all torn up over
Which fundie to put in the SCOTUS or which Constitutional Amendments they want to pass, or who to invade next.

They are falling apart... down to only owning every branch of Government- except Judicial - which is next.

2. Speakin' of the Judicial Branch...
...there's an interesting parallel with the old Soviet model, in which you had to be a Communist Party member to get anywhere -- The Federalist Society is the new party apparatus, and with Republicans in charge of nominating & confirming Judges at all levels, the goal is to have only party apparatchiks appointed to the Federal bench...

3. It will be fun to watch
With any luck the "normal traditional Republicans" will win in the end but not before their party is torn apart and consigned to the political wilderness for a decade or three!

4. Eisenhower
Remember his last military industrial complex speech?

http://coursesa.matrix.msu.edu/~hst306/documents/indust.html

Take note of his use of the term "even spiritual"

"Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. American makers of plowshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But now we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. Added to this, three and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense establishment. We annually spend on military security more than the net income of all United States corporations.

This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence -- economic, political, even spiritual -- is felt in every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together."
