John Kerry got more votes than Ronald Reagan...
So how much fine tuning does the Party need to win the next election? I have called for a more progressive agenda. Would that have made the difference in last election or did we go too far to the left? Considering that we were running against a far-right regressive Party, what should have been our message? Did the people see enough difference in the candidates?

5. it means more people voted in this election than in any election
since 1968 (percentage wise), so it was easy for Bush to become the man whose gotten the most votes in history (at 60 million plus) and Kerry to be a strong runner up (at 57 million plus). Prior to '04, Al Gore got the most votes than anybody other than Ronald Reagan.

8. It's pretty serious
As long as Dems can't compete in huge regions of the country, they relegate themselves to minority status.

The South is a problem, but so is parts of the Midwest & Rocky Mtn states.

9. That's only because the country is larger
It would be silly to think that Kerry was/is more popular than Reagan.
