I got a bad feeling about our chances when I saw the name Schrum
Bob Schrum is jinxed. He's Mr. Concession Speech personified. He has a history of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Kerry kept him on out of loyalty. Please.

I saw we kick out McAuliffe, Schrum, and the rest of that crowd. We have to start cleaning house now. We're gonna need a school of pirhanas to have any chance of taking down the GOP in the future.

1. He needs to take a rest
I've met him and seen him nervously try to be in a crowd. It's as though he has something hanging over his head...

Sometimes I think he peaked in 1980. He's a good speechwriter, but sometimes gets too predictable.

I did get to drive him around a little when he was in Spring Green in Wisconsin before the first debate. He was nervous, but I think he did a good job preparing John Kerry for the debate. Joe Lockhart appeared to have been getting on his case. There was definitely a pissing contest going on.

2. Me too
It's funny how this Schrum character is considered to be such a brilliant "expert" at running campaigns after having lost six or seven in a row.

3. how come he couldn't just be an advisor. why did he have to run
the show. let me tell ya, if it was me. I would have set my buddy down and told him the facts. you are not running this one, love ya, but it's going to be somebody else.

and he seems like the kind of perosn, that will come up with every kind of excuse except it was his fault.

4. We need to clean house--it's very evident that the leadership
is woefully out of touch with reality. And they seem determined to ignore "outsiders" like Howard Dean, despite the fact that the only two Democrats elected in the past 30 years were two Governors-not Senators! It's like they don't learn anything from their prior mistakes and it's so frustrating for me to see it happen again and again. Believe me, when the DNC sent out that e-mail asking for our input last weekend, I did not hesitate to tell them what I thought.
