If the Party Moves any Further to the Right, we'll be a permanent minority
The Democratic Party has been moving to the right for at least 12 years now. This past election should make it crystal clear that THIS ISN'T WORKING.

So far, moving to the right has gotten us:

Minority Status in the House

Minority Status in the Senate

Minority Status in governorships in the states

If we want to make sure we never see majority status again, then by all means, let's keep moving to the right.

Now, if we want to be the national party again, it's time to get back to our roots and start offering Americans a clear choice again. Our core values are different than theirs. We believe in peace, social justice, and equal rights for all. It's time to stop being afraid to say so.

1. I agree,
at the rate things are going, the Democratic party will soon be nothing more than the Rockefeller/Goldwater branch of the Republican party.

When that happens, I will have no choice but to turn to the Green party.

2. Countries of the East Bloc used to have minority parties, too,
which gave their assemblies the semblance of plurality, but really they were just window dressing for the rubber stamp.

That's the future of the Democratic Party. Hell, in Washington, that's its present.

3. I totally agree. But with Biden & Shumer supporting Gonzales...
they need to get the memo. They have tantrums now and again that are mildly gratifying from an child-like point of view but consistent advocacy is unheard of to them. They are dilettantes.

Corporate America controls the media and we get manufactured news.
Corporate America now controls the voting machines and we get manufactured elections.

4. Yes, PNACers and the Moral Majority take over the
Republican party, and moderate repugs take over the Democratic Party as DINO's... pushing us left of center progressives out of the two party system... now that's a scenario, eh?
