It is time for a big anti-war protest in several cities and
A big resounding message to the world that we consider Bush and his cohorts war criminals.

1. Agreed. What date should we aim for?

3. A.N.S.W.E.R is planning rallies
on the day of Bush's inauguration. Those might be good. And then there's always the anniversary of the war, but I personally don't want to wait that long.

4. I feel the same way. I don't want to wait that long. We really should
have done it on Veteran's Day.

5. We probably should have
but everyone is in a kind of shell shock right now. But I think we're starting to get over it. You're right though, I am so ready and pumped to hit the streets. I feel like making it a regular weekend activity for the next four years.

6. Well, don't forget the noontime bridges and overpasses protests
You can always join them.

But for sheer numbers, we do need a big to-do on a set date.

7. Not Inauguration Day
We will be blown to bits by the police. If we do it away from a Dubya event, in time and place, we won't be bothered, and we can make a big presence known. Maybe our brothers and sisters in Europe will protest at the same time and we can have another 10 million turn out against Dubya.

How about Sunday, December 5? In Washington, Chicago, San Francisco, and ?

The theme should be that the Iraq war is immoral and illegal. And Dubya is a war criminal for starting an illegal war, allowing torture, using chemical weapons, not protecting civilians, etc., etc. We should negotiate with the insurgents and get out as soon as possible, pledging to respect whatever government is created.

Personally, I think Iraq should have three different states with their own cultures and laws with each electing representatives to a united body. That united body will have to work together if they want to continue as Iraq. The finances and oil wealth should be shared. But that is just my opinion.

9. I woulf think the 5th too soon to do the logistics and grass roots
recruiting. Although inaugeration day may not be good domestically would be the perfect day abroad.

8. December 16-17th is the anniversary
Edited on Mon Nov-15-04 12:33 PM by stellanoir
of the Boston Tea Party. Not sure what day the Electoral College votes this year.

As for the Boston Tea Party anniversary, I mentioned it to a friend yesterday and she suggested that we throw an electronic voting machine into the harbor. I laughed and said it would the only act of pollution that would have been prosecuted by the DEM in the last four years.

As for the inaugural check out the Grand Refusal Coalition. . .

I like the 12/16-17th because it was all about taxation without representation.

Haven't checked the aspects though. . .

Just edited because two different sources give those two different dates. I'll dig a little deeper.
