The political genius of George W. Bush (Carlos Watson is a fool)
Carlos Watson seems to be drinking a lot lately as in his latest article he proclaims that Bush is "probably one of the three or four most talented politicians of the last half of a century." Carlos my hats off to you, you have officially made yourself the most ignorant political columinst I have ever seen. Opinion of not those words should come out of no ones mouth. To say that means that Dan Quayle was one of the most talented politicans in the last half century. To me Carlos Watson has no jounralistic integrity and is a fool. It seems to me that Carlos was not hired because of his political knowledge, but because of another factor, if you catch my drift. He claims that Bush is not a puppet, but an intellectual because how else could he "beat" Ann Richards, Al Gore and John Kerry. He fails to mention the little thing about smear tactics and lies, but who cares to Watson Bush is a political genius. Ofcourse by saying this, he's basically saying that the KKK is run by social geniuses because they have been a popular organization for years, by using lies and smear tactics. I'll supply the link, but I want Carlos' e-mail address in order to bring him down a leve. Carlos is a fool.

1. The scoop on Carlos.
Carlos is a black democrat who desires "credibility". In order to get it, he feels like he has to kiss as much Republican ass as possible to make sure he doesn't come off as biased. Unfortunately, he comes off as biased in the other direction.

3. Watson's not that bad, but he's not paying attention here
He beat Ann Richards for a lot of reasons that had nothing to do with him. I lived in Austin for Bush's first and second elections as governor. After the second election I began asking people to name something Bush had said, then to describe his voice, and finally I asked people whether they had even heard him speak.

The overwhelming majority of people who voted for him admitted they did not know what he sounded like, and most admitted they weren't even sure they had ever heard him speak.

There was later a poll that demonstrated this was not isolated-- Bush won because he bought the media and they assured everyone he should win. No one knew anything about him, even for his reelection.

With Gore, he lost. Even in Florida, clearly more people intended to vote for him, by 50K, perhaps 300K-- we'll never know.

Maybe he beat Kerry. Maybe. But without the media pimping him full time, he wouldn't have.

Bush's political skills are nil. His daddy's fundraising skills are fantastic. The media's support of Bush was shameless. That's where the victory was-- not in the most skilled politician of the century (not even this century), but in the most corrupt media of any American century.

Sadly, I think Watson may be one of the better commentators at CNN.

4. Bush, by himself....................
is slightly charismatic. He mixes well with people in an affable doofus sort of way, but as a politician he is no where near the top of the heap. What Carlos and many other people seem to forget is that Bush has been molded, formed, coached and unleashed on the American people by KKKarl Rove and to a lesser extent, Karen Hughes. They have been both behind him and at his side since he first made his initial foray into politics.
Rove and Hughes are the two people that should get all the credit for the strawman that is George Bush. We've all seen what happens to Bush when he trusts his "instincts" and goes it alone without his "brain". (Think debate #1 with Kerry)
Carlos is a butt kissing, and I hate to say this, Uncle Tom, that wants nothing more out of life than to be the GOPs waterboy.

5. Excellent point.
Did you ever see the full tape of Bush's interview in the campaign bus when he admitted that the war on terrorism couldn't be won? He was being George -- not that I would have been tempted to vote for him, but I didn't hate him for a full 12 minutes. It was amazing. The next day, he was back to being the Smirking Chimp.

6. Being a talented politician does not mean he has honesty or ethics.

And, I think Bush is as, or more, talented a politician than Hitler was.

Bush himself isn't very charismatic or good looking or even very knowledgable. He does know how to manipulate appearances to cover up his failures among just enough people. He knew enough that he knew he couldn't win the election without some fraud so he went and got that fraud done and he hasn't been caught yet. In fact folks seem to be scared to talk about that fraud, which in a sense is another measure of his success as a "politician". He also seems to know ALOT about political favors behind the scenes. He redirects tax money to those who help him and he does everything in his power to destroy those who oppose him. Shrewd, evil and vengeful everything he does and has done while in power has been done with the purpose of accumulating more power for himself. Ethics and issues do not matter. Only power. He is a pure (and very evil) politician. He is a politician whose only goal is power and he will, as Cheney projects, say or do anything for that power.

7. I disagree
All the manipulation done in the White House was by Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, and maybe Rice. I refuse to believe that Bush is anything more than a kid with a silver spoon in his mouth. He has never been poor, never had to work for anything, but he is trated like he has. Also it's been proven plenty of times that Bush has a very low IQ and isn't very bright. Why is it that Arrafat could speak better english than Bush? Heck Bush can't even speak a seconde language. I'm sorry but to believe that Bush is anything but a dolt, is impossible. He is just lucky to have some very nasty yet somewhat intelligent helpers on his side. Also the fact that a majority of Americans are idiots help Bush too. See that is why Carlos is so kind to Bush. It's not that Carlos particulalry likes Bush, it's just that he is as dumb as Bush. That's why everything about Bush seems great to Carlos, he's an idiot, oh and biased as hell.
