Let's actively work to lose
the label of elitists. I caught about 15 seconds of Scarborough while channel surfing earlier this morning and observed him, Buchanan, and that skanky Jack Somethinorother (whose claim to punditry fame was made by keeping his nose glued to Clinton's crotch)screeching on and on about the elitist liberals. Who the f____are they referring to? I know plenty of liberals, not of whom came from wealth or privilege. Just a lot of ordinary working class people who strive to make life better for themselves. This is the single most destructive label applied to liberals. How is it that these sons of privilege--* and cronies, Buchanan, sons of old policial/monied families--get buy with labelling those in the working class who disagree with them as "elitists".

7. So how do we call a pig a pig and get people to recognize it as such?
We need to somehow change people's opinions of both parties. It's obvious to us that the people in power are the true Elites in our country but how do we make "Joe Republican" recognize the fact that he's been bent over and screwed by his own party? He still thinks that Shrub is going to knock on his door, put a cold one in his mitt, and sit on the porch wiht him listening to Conway Twitty.

If Bush is the "common man", I'm Superman.

as long as you are letting them define the dialogue - which I think you are by saying "Let's actively work to lose the label of elitists", you lose.

I think we are working with a group of people so stupid and childish that it might be just as effective to say "It takes one to know one, so na na na na naa". I mean, really, this is just schoolyard bullshit.

4. Most of the time
when "they" talk about elitists, it hasn't been in the context of wealth or priviledge, but in education.

It's to make the regular Joe think that we all believe them to be dumb, backwards yokels.

9. If you were a Republican and wanted to remain in power,
would want to face an educated electorate? The dumbing down of America has been a long road, but hey, they did it.

My son was on the academic team in high school. They were never acknowledged in any school meeting. But every Friday, the school had a "pep rally" the last two hours of the day for the football team.

We have gone from the most literate nation on earth (mid 1800's) to third world status.

6. No one is more elitist than the fundamentalist "leaders" who say that ...
... they are the only ones on Earth who know how to worship God. I put "leaders" in quotes because they are not clerics, they are politicians disguised as preachers.

10. liberal elite
funny how they get pegged liberal elite, if I'm liberal I certainly don't feel very elite. Perhaps I'm more well read than the average republican but that doesn't make me elite, I'm not in any position
