and peel off the conservative base. The right has become good at perverting left-wing ideas. It's time we do the same.

Repeat early and often:

GUN CONTROL IS A STATE ISSUE

WE WILL CRACK DOWN ON COMPANIES THAT HIRE UNDOCUMENTED WORKERS (play up the tough-on-crime posturing that gets socially liberal pubs like Guiliani and Pete Wilson elected)

1. The companies that hire undocumented workers in my state

are mostly Republican owned: poultry processing plants, landscape maintenance and construction companies. I think that it is so hypocritical for these men (they are mostly white males) to condemn illegal immigrants while employing them.

2. It's not hypocritical, it's shrewd
Cracking down often on undocumented workers keeps wages down.

3. Yes. That stuff seems so obvious. I can't help but wonder why on Earth

the Democratic strategists don't do stuff like this. They act like they are running campaigns in the 1970s rather than 2000+.

And whats more they are alwasy slow to react. They leave Dems twisting in the wind for multiple news cycles before they come out with answers on many things.
