US soldier found dead on a kitchen floor in Iraq
Edited on Sat Nov-20-04 05:33 AM by lebkuchen
As tragic any death is on either side of this war, I can't help but wonder what most Americans would do if an intruder (armed or not) were to enter their house.

1. If an intruder (armed or not) were to enter my house...?
Simple: I would do everything within my power to protect those I love, and myself, whether it took my hands, or something else.

The question's not even debatable. You lose your family, you lose your life. What is left to live for?

2. It never ceases to amaze me
People always seem to find a way to remove themselves from any culpability or danger in their own minds. HOW STUPID ARE THESE PEOPLE? When will they learn that it will be THEIR ASSES on the line if they keep supporting the Redneck Antichrist? How much do you have to see in order to understand that the war affects us all? Will they have to see a video before it makes sense? Or do they have to be there in person?

4. sad
This is Bush's fault, for sending our kids overseas to break into people's homes and murder families.

It wasn't fun to make nor to look at (which I must every time I post), but I hope a few Bush supporters/lurkers see them and lose sleep forevermore. :grr:

7. Most americans would defend their house and would say so.
Ask most americans this question in relation to the situation in Iraq now, though - I wonder how many are brainwashed enough to say "No, no, I would welcome an occupying military force and any soldier who came sneaking/barging/crashing into my house! Of course I would cooperate!"

Yet most americans seem to have the "I shall defend my house" mentality, so go figure.

"But but but the teevee sez it's just the 'insurgents' 'an the terrorists they are killin!" Yep. Right. There have been what, over 100,000 Iraqis killed so far? (from watching News Hour last night I think)

Ugh, this just saddens me.

9. A bitter irony
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sean Patrick Sims Sul Ross Memorial Scholarship Fund. Send to Texas A&M Foundation, 401 George Bush Drive. College Station, TX 77840.

George Bush Drive? But for George Bush this man would probably be alive.

10. “This was really a kind person, a gentle soul"
“This was really a kind person, a gentle soul,” O’Brien said in a phone interview about the teen who once ran cross country with O’Brien’s son.

I'm sure the exact same thing can be said for most of the hundred thousand people we've massacred in Iraq.

People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully
So we're different colours
And we're different creeds
And different people have different needs
It's obvious you hate me
Though I've done nothing wrong
I've never even met you so what could I have done

I can't understand
What makes a man
Hate another man
Help me understand

Help me understand

Now you're punching
And you're kicking
And you're shouting at me
I'm relying on your common decency
So far it hasn't surfaced
But I'm sure it exists
It just takes a while to travel
From your head to your fists.

11. What this man's brother had to say:
Edited on Sat Nov-20-04 10:22 AM by SodoffBush
“Although my family will miss him dearly, we are very proud that he gave his life in service of those ideals.”

I've heard mothers and fathers making similar comments after they've lost their son/daugher in Iraq. "Well, we'll miss him!" It's not like he went away to college for crissake! The family has lost a child/sibling, and it's as if they're happier that the family member died for a good cause than they are sad that he/she is never coming back!

How can Americans be so goddamned dumb?

12. 'He died for us. He died for our freedoms.'
Remark by the sister-in-law of a dead Illinois soldier. Slightly crazed smile on her face.

13. what a fucking stupid thing to say
Personal death to these military families has become a thing of beauty.

I'm not related to any of these people, and I say these deaths are a fucking waste.

What's wrong with this picture?
