The message is clear to Mr. Kim Jong Il: Get rid of your NUCULAR weapons
I've hear this clip several times today of Bush thumping his chest with more tired "Bring It On" cowboy bravado BS while on his "The World Hates Us" tour of Chile...

How SERIOUSLY can you take him, with the dramatic pauses and the slow, measured, read-my-lips intonation of "NUCULAR?"

He's had four years to learn how to pronounce that word. If we end up in a nuclear war, I'd at least like the guy who's pretending to lead our country to be able to PRONOUNCE it.

:grr:

1. The media keeps forcing his ignorance on us
"It's a dialect" they say. "It's a legitimate form of pronounciation."

17. "Mr. G....Bring down that wall"--said Reagan. Bush's declaritive sounds
much like Reagan's did several years ago--in which Reagan and his followers take credit for the fall of the Wall.

Seems to me that Bush is talking this from the play book of Reagon.
Bush wants to go down in the history books as the pred who broke the back of NK.
Just a thought--but bush's words sure do reverberate of Reagons!!

3. you'd think he'd stop speaking like that now
I mean, its not like he has to convince the stupid part of America that he's as dumb as they are.

5. good luck with that - I wish for something more attainable
I've been screaming e-mails to the white house and georgie porgie himself (as well as to pickles) about this for 4 years now. I've sent source after source providing the correct pronunciation and definition, to no avail.

I'm convinced it is part of his smug, 'in-your-face', fuck you attitude he thrives on. I also think that behaviors such as these are some form of sick perverted 'foreplay' from this frustrated, closeted, want-to-be person.

11. Does it really matter?
I don't think it's important. Aren't there more serious things to look at?

Even Clinton didn't pronounce it correctly all the time. Linguists see it a lot differently:

12. Merriam Webster somewhat vidicates Bush
Edited on Sat Nov-20-04 08:48 PM by wuushew
Main Entry: nu·cle·ar
Pronunciation: 'nü-klE-&r, 'nyü-, ÷-ky&-l&r
Function: adjective

http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=nuclear

usage Though disapproved of by many, pronunciations ending in \-ky&-l&r\ have been found in widespread use among educated speakers including scientists, lawyers, professors, congressmen, U.S. cabinet members, and at least one U.S. president and one vice president. While most common in the U.S., these pronunciations have also been heard from British and Canadian speakers.

18. I'm becoming convinced some people just
have a mental block against learning such things. It's similar to those who keep saying THE Ukraine or THE Sudan when the article prefix was dropped years ago when each country achieved statehood.

And then there are the retards who think lose and loser are spelled loose and looser. These people need to be slapped upside the head with a 2x4.

19. They'd be fools to get rid of their nuclear weapons. We would invade
them in a flash. We never invade people capable of defending themselves. We are cowards.
