Under new law being considered, the federal government would require that every child in America undergo psychological screening and receive recommended treatment, including drug therapies.

Next week the Senate re-convenes to consider an omnibus appropriations bill that includes funding for grants to implement mandatory universal mental health screening for almost 60 million children, pregnant women, and adults through schools and pre-schools.

so what drug company is in trouble and needs a "mandatory" revenue boost through doping up of kids?

any bets that tests will show a staggering number of kids have been going around "undiagnosed"?

Did anyone notice that it is the "right-wing" that is behind this???

DOesn't this remind ANYONE of Hitler's eugenics programs?

Why isn't this being trumpeted from the highest towers???

But if I had a child in a public school, I would definately remove him/her from that school immediately.

This, of course, may be the goal of the Bush--to reduce the public schools to a nothing so that privatizing all schools will be the result.

They hate the public school system. Why should they(Republican ditto headsl) pay for kids to be instructed in evolution theory or in humanist tendencies? They must all be crazy and to prove it we will test them for mental illness while they are in the first grade.

Do NOT allow this to happen. It will be a stain on all the records of these kids for the rest of their lives, should they be determined to be mentally ill, or worse, POTENTIALLY mentally ill according to the tests developed by right wingers, most likely.

We have gone through some great times in our lives=the period from the fifties up until the beginning of the twenty first century, and NEVER did we submit children to this egregious control by the state---and NO CHILD was ever given pills to get them through the day at school, or was EVER subjected to tests to determine if they were mentally ill or POTENTIALLY mentally ill.

It is an outrage.


Parents must do what is best for their children and I would without a doubt, remove my child from expososure to this shit.

This is an obscene infringement upon the parents. NOt to mention the encapsulation of children whose parents do not have the option of removing them or home schooling them.

It is another step to removing the public school system, which has already been beaten to the ground by these fascists.

Since when does the government get to be parents to our children?

Since those who are in power do not want to give "their" money to promote "secularism", or "communism", or "humantist" interests as they see it.

So they will subject the kids who are left in public schools to this abomination.

Bush and his managed care buddies have seen to that.....
where are all these kids going to go for treatment??
