2. Bush's Version
"Ah saved yer life today!"

"Seriously, Mr. President, it wasn't a big deal."

"Ah saved yer life today and now Ah'm a war hero! Bigger than thet little bastard Kerry!"

"Mister President..."

"Ah like it when you call me thet!"

"...it was just a misunderstanding."

"Now you listen here. Ah saved yer life today. And Ah can't be seperated from ya. Who else's gonna polish the helmet of mah 'little soldier?'"

"...What?"

"Git to it! Ah saved yer life today!"

4. Another Bush Fraud
Like everything else associated with Bush ... this story is a fraud, too.

Formal State Dinner Canceled at APEC

Hours after President Bush dove into a fracas to rescue his lead Secret Service agent from a confrontation with Chilean security officials, word surfaced of another security dispute. This time, an elaborate state dinner Sunday night was the casualty. ...

7. I saw it too
The bulge looks about the middle of his back, below the shoulder blades. This is lower than in the debate picture. It also looks smaller than in debate picture.

6. Jeez, I don't recall any of our other
Presidents having these kind of problems in foreign countries. In fact, they were treated quite nicely if I recall.

10. Actually, they did
Clinton and Bush I often ran into problems in foreign countries - or should I say their staffs and security details regularly had problems. This is to be expected. It usually just doesn't happen right in the presence of the president and, more importantly, the pool photographers.

This is really not that big of a deal except that Bush got personally involved.

9. Even though I hate Bush's guts....
That was VERY stupid of the Chileans to try to bar the President of the United States' security personnel. I'm sure the Secret Service guys almost had a heart attack.

Things such as who goes where with our president and theirs are carefully negotiated by the advance teams for weeks in advance. And it looks like this agent had been cleared since, in addition to his lapel pin, he's wearing a credential. But once everything starts, it is not uncommon for security to start throwing their weight around or sometimes, just get too caught up in the turmoil and forget who is who. This kind of thing happens all of the time on foreign visits but it usually happens behind the scenes, not right in front of the press.

It doesn't happen as often on our turf because when foreign dignitaries travel to the United States, U.S. Secret Service coordinates their security, partly to avoid just these kinds of situations.
