Everybody knew Bush* gamed the systems... That's why the bogus documents were so so compelling and CBS was duped...

Even the secretary who said she didn't type it, but those words were precise in what he said. Also, if I recall, the document could not be disproved either... the font would only be available by a special order from IBM (not one of the typical/standard fonts used at that time).

I haven't seen anything that disproved either actually. So, it could have been real - if not, the words were stated by his secretary to be precisely what would come from his mouth. So, what's the difference? TRUE TRUE TRUE (my eyes)

Is he Republican or Democrat? I could never figure it out. I used to watch him a lot until after Nov. 3rd, now i can't stand the show.

One minute he's a Peace Corps volunteer. The next he's the guy who just bought a 4.5 million dollar house on Nantucket (true). One minute he's cooing like a school girl about Bush's manliness. The next he's riding Bill Clinton for every bit of sexuality he possesses.

He's vain and often ill-prepared. He considers himself an insider; a player.

We'd be a lot better off if he would run for office somewhere, IMO, get elected and off the tube.

he WAS a Democrat. He worked a long time for Tip O'Neil and worked for Jimmy Carter as a speech-writer(I think). I say WAS because it is apparent to me that ever since he has been on the air he has tried to overcompensate to try to avoid the 'liberal' media tag. Sometimes he still has some decent moments like when he was on Bill Maher earlier this year what he said sounded like he almost certainly supported Kerry, but then again who knows. The important thing is that he has been doing an abhorrent job as a newsman.

He again asked me if I had been contacted by the FBI yet? I asked him why would I have been contacted by the FBI? Kestenbaum said “because of what’s going on in the Congress with anthrax. I still could not understand what he was talking about – until he explained that Traditional Values Coalition fit the profile of who the FBI would be investigating to determine who would have sent anthrax to the offices of Senators Daschle and Leahy. I've consistently stopped conservatives cold by turning and fighting on this point. "What makes you think you're America? Where'd you get some right like Napoleon crowning himself emperor? You're not America; America embraces difference of opinion. Why don't you just say 'ditto' and save yourself the work?"

They splutter and backtrack, mostly because they're absolutely defenseless when someone actually turns to fight. I also remind them that my family's been here since the 1630s THAT I KNOW OF, and fought on both sides of the Civil War.

I hammer them and demand that they withdraw their accusation and apologize, and I heavily lard the moment by telling them that they're just repeating hatespeech from others. Sometimes I even start the fusillade by saying "wow, are you they guy who came up with that phrase? I know you wouldn't just parrot stock phrases from reactionaries..."

I literally turn on a dime and look them directly in the eye and accuse them of bigotry and thuggery, just to make it clear just how hateful such an accusation is. People don't fight enough, and the forces of conformity need to be called out for their moral ugliness.

One of the good things about the current hubris of the monarchists is that they'll show their true colors.
