Dean leads in survey of DNC members for Chair
Got this from a story from the Des Moines Register which is mostly about Vilsack forgoing the race, but the last paragraph caught my eye:
"Vilsack was second to Dean in a survey of 155 DNC members conducted last week by National Journal, a Washington DC, based political report. Party officials expect the committee's roughly 400 members to vote on a new chairman in February."

2. Not only that, but in Dean's case the amount of internal undermining
would be ferocious. I'm sure that many would see this as the perfect opportunity to silence Dean for good. That's my main worry and why I think that DFA may be the best opportunity for him, but I'll trust his judgement.

6. "Silence him for good"?
Isn't that a bit over the top? I'm sure that Dean would tell them where to go. As long as the lines of communication are open, we will always support DFA.
He can do untold good as DNC chair. For the party and for the country. I believe that he will make his own decision, and that I will back him up in whatever position he shoots for.

7. You don't need to look far to find 'questionable' support for him
to run for the chair.

17. Trust him. I think he'd do an AWESOME job in that position.
All over the talk shows, beating the crap out of Repukes, charming the audience.

My hope is, and I expect that, Dean is going to revitalize our party nearly single-handedly.

3. It's an excellent networking position.
That includes networking for people who want to run for president. Jimmy Carter and McGovern both used positions with the DNC to build groundwork for their campaigns.

4. If anybody could do it...
Dr. Dean could.

100 of the electors for the DLC slot were pledged Dean superdelegates in the primaries.

Go Howard!

13. Yes!
I would love to have Dean as our DNC Chair. It would set the tone for a change of direction in this party that we definately need. I think he would do worlds of good.

Of course, it is up to him what he wants to do.

16. So that IS why Vilsack bowed out...somebody said that
in the LBN bowing-out thread.

Wow- there's a revolt going on. People in the party are actually standing up for what's right.
