Can you believe CNN?
They're talking about the fraud in Ukraine, showing the people protesting. What is going on here? I feel like they'e playing some kind of sick joke on us.

1. Are they actually calling it fraud?
Or is it a "disputed election"?

4. The caption at CNN.com
is "Election protests rock Ukraine." I'm not certain what they said when they were talking about it on TV, but the point remains that they are giving the Ukraine election protests coverage, but they never mention the possiblity that Goerge Bush may have gotten more than 240,000 extra votes in Florida. They never mention the 50,000 + voting irregularities reported to the GAO.

22. Florida votes
When I first heard about the massive differences between registered Democrats and votes for Bush in Florida I sent out about 50 emails to news organizations asking them to look into it. But I think that the issue has been settled. Those Democrats have been voting Republican for years. We should let the Florida vote go. Don't you think that there would be a massive number of people furious over the vote totals in those counties if it really went for Kerry?

25. NO, we should NOT "let the Florida vote go"
That is the absolute wrong thing to do. Sorry stopthenoise, but that is a bit ridiculous.

If someone steals your car, would you let that go?
If someone kidnaps your child, would you let that go?

Should we all just go away and play nice in the sandbox and let the criminals do whatever they want to? I think no.

No, fraud is a crime and crimes should be detected, proven and stopped. The criminals need to be in jail.

Welcome to DU, BTW. :hi:

5. Can you believe CNN?
I've had some success in framing all of these "NEWS" programs as new episodes of SNL or Jon Stewart.

And Bev Harris who gets shoved out of the election office digs in the trash to find the true election results gets 2 mins on CNN!

Sometimes I really hate America... this is one of those times.

3. Of course!!!! Don't you get it?
Let's show how unruly other countries can get when they think their elections weren't right. Then when those internet conspiracy theorists start talking about voter fraud here, it can be knocked down before the chaos starts!

Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 10:33 AM by Goldeneye
My god, if people can see that the exit polls were wrong in Ukraine, and believe something went wrong, why can't they believe that's what happened in America?

I feel like the media is mocking us.

8. Because America
is special. Nothing like that can happen in the perfection of democracy. Society can reach no greater height than that of Capitalist America. We are the be all, end all, of civilization.

11. Yes and if American news
jumps on Ukraine's problems, it blows smoke over OUR problems.

In other words, if there was indeed FRAUD HERE, we would be all over it! Just like we're covering the Ukraine.

This is more smoke up our butts to cover Big Media's complicity in the election theft coverup. They are using Ukraine to cover up *.

16. And what does CNN Expect?...
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 12:45 PM by shuffnew
The US is the primary one trying to train and force democracy on all these other countries who don't have it! U.S. train well, huh?
Monkey see - Monkey do! The U.S. is defining the democracy by the Bush regime rules... what do you expect then in other countries? No vote counts is the #1 step in the training process, right? Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iraq.... and the list goes on...

Democracy=Voter/Election fraud?

Take that to the bank... CNN!!!

7. We need to do the same
We need to do the same. We know that the right wingers would, so what in the world are we waiting for? I live in a red state, so I have few fellow progressives here -- I live in Oklahoma by the way -- and thus no one to rally with folks. We need to hit the streets with a thunderous defiant roar.

Read my thread titled, "DESPERATE TIMES CALL FOR DESPERATE MEASURES" to put in your two cents.

9. NO I DON'T BELIEVE CNN
i don't watch never never land tv. but i may turn it on to see how colonel klink and the spinnerets handle this. it has to be a very touchy subject since they seem to have forgotten our own contested election. of all things, dangerous similarities, those pesky 'exit pols'. they must be asking themselves how to handle this so there will be no comparisons. fat chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 02:06 PM by cyr330
Surely you jest when you say you're surprised. . . . Just think what CNN has done so far. They failed us when Bush* stole the election in 2000, and they were so far up Bush* and Company's collective ass during the 2004 election that they still have shit and dingleberries all over their face. What do you expect from the likes of them?
