Hey Kerry Americans - Watch the Ukraine and ...
see how its done. I just heard they are calling for a nationwide work stoppage.
Do you think that would have gotten the Media's attention here - if we did that?

1. The difference between us and them is that while both ruling governments
are scum, the Ukraines know it; Americans, however, prefer to live with their heads in the sand.

4. This government (ours) is the lowest of the lows--why is it so hard for
people to think that they WOULD steal the election? They'd do it without batting an eye.

6. Don't do that unless Yushchenko can pull this one out for
the Ukrainian people. If Yanukovich retains power, they will try to take the country closer to Russia. If you think the Repukes are bad, wait until you experience the old Soviet style government. Repression with a capital "R". - K

5. It is also our tradition from the beginning to accept the changes
in the government as "the people's will", deal with it peacably and lie in wait for next time.

Now we might get pretty ballistic over a policy...(Vietnam War, civil rights, etc)...

For over 200 years, we have accepted election results and gone forward.
Now should we change that? I don't have that answer, but think about when Nixon resigned...there was an opportunity for a military coup if I ever saw one..but it did not happen. We followed the Constitution and peace prevailed.

The fact that we go forward from our elections without civil unrest is a hallmark of our history and does set us apart.

Realize that I detest Shrub with an unbelievable vigor..I did not know I had that much rancor left in me at my old age. I worked hard for John Kerry, and all our local Dem candidates, and will do so again. It is going to be a long 4 years with no national news to watch as I don't want to look at W or hear his voice unless I have to. (have to by definition includes whatever Jon Stewart has to say). I am lying in wait for 2006 and 2008, bunkering in with the other Democrats in the area and not giving up on my party.

Praying for an impeachment? maybe. hoping for a major scandal that causes another Republican resignation. Definitely. Ready to work against the enemy next time out YOU BETCHA!

7. Ummm... Your reading of history isn't applicable.
We accept the election IF it is the the people's will. If the person who gets in office does so without the people's will, well, that's a whole new ballgame. The question up in the air for us right now is, was Bush's election really the peoples will, or did he game the system in order to accomplish it? If the former, we will accept. If the latter then we have a civic duty NOT to accept it.

9. I Hear What Your Saying - But ....
when the same thing happens in 2006, 2008 - will you still be praying for impeachment; hoping a major scandal causes another Repub resignation and be ready to work against the enemy in 2010 and 2012?

8. It could be because the Ukraine vote protest is funded by BushCo
See this article in Commen Dreams
http://www.commondreams.org/news2004/1122-12.htm

Bush sent National Endowment for Democracy over to the Ukraine to help incite a coup.

12. It is sickening to watch the media..........
....keep talking about another nations elections and hell they won't even get off their a$$ and find out the truth about what is going on here in there own country. Instead they try to make it as if we have all lost our mind and need to be directed to the closest mental ward. This is the kind os crap that will continue until the American people fight back and fight back hard. If the media and the neocons worried about their own country as much as they did sticking their nose's in other countries business (which is none of there damn business) we would be a whole lot better off.
