I can only speak for myself, but in my case they're wrong. If they want to vote for republicans, that's fine with me.

MY mortal enemies are the people that they're voting for. :)

Real "beef eating Freeps" only come here to get into the Lounge, build up post count and then "infiltrate" the rest of us.

And, we Dems...being so much on the "defensive these days after "Selection 2000" don't even know that they are there, because we anser them and trash our OWN MEMBERS to kow tow to their complaints.

But...what the Hell :wtf: If they want to come over here and see what OPEN DISCUSSION and FREEDOM OF THOUGHT, are...then I welcome those who drift over there who aren't looking to disrupt, but who lurk, because whatever "FR" is dishing out isn't satisfying them.

A "Freeper Searching for TRUTH" in my book is welcome on DU...but a FEEPER looking to troll, disrupt and report........is usually gotten by the great DU Mods.

If they aren't then we will get them. But..if someone is serious...it's amazing how long we spend trying to "convert them." :D...

I say let 'em lurk as long as they behave.
They might learn something and come over from the dark side.

As long as the freeps follow the rules, then they may be good people to have a discussion with.

If someone does not say what they wish they really get up tight. Like saying that Bush lies. We have been told about 8000 men have been wounded but now that is not what Stars and Stripes tells us. So should we bomb that office?Shall we let the freepers check out what Stars and Stripes is saying? The paper for the service man.

Even with as low IQ as most of them have, people can only take so much flag waving.

...to say that most are unintelligent. A lot of posts here look pretty stupid since they're usually affirmations or short comments made to other posts. On the whole, the political commentary here is on a very high level. I'm sure the Freepers feel the same way about their site.

The problem isn't freepers. The problem is that this "new" Republican party isn't really conservative. It is spendthrift. It is warmongering. It is intolerant of dissent, and is willing to use any means it can to crush its opponents.

Never mind how they treat us...just look at how they treated McCain, Specter or any other Republican whenever any have dared speak out against the party line.

These people are power-mongers. And when enough thinking people - regardless of party - finally understand what they're about, I believe that's when the change will come. At least, that's what I pray for.

I have lots of friends and not all of them are liberals, Dems, and moderates. Some are quite sincerely Republicans. Many of them are very smart people, too. The issues that keep them voting Republican are mostly religion (born-agains) and gun rights. Most get their "news" from Rush and the rest of RW radio. Everything else is "too liberal."

The most fun thing was asking them what they liked about Bush that made them want to vote for him. Not once did I get an answer that favored Bush...it was always, "Because Kerry is so awful!"

To me, if you can't think of a single good thing about your candidate, it's only logical to look at somebody else or not cast a vote. It's obvious they don't like Bush - one came right out and said it - but they FEAR Democrats.

Rush and his cohorts have done their job well. They have managed to turn brave, independent, thinking people into unquestioning, rationalizing, fear-filled robots. What a shame.

HELP!

I just had a huge argument with some freeptards about the election. We went back and forth but they kept hitting me with the following facts and I don't know how to dispute them. I have done research on each item and are indisputable. I am so distraught that I couldn't win the argument with these rethuglicans.

Here are the facts that those repukes kept YELLING at me:

* GWB won the most votes in history. 60+ million and counting.

* GWB became the first president in 60 years to win re-election while his party was in control of BOTH the House and the Senate.

* GWB became the first president in 68 years to win re-election and actually GAIN seats in both the House and the Senate.

* GWB also became the first president in 16 years to win over 50% of the popular vote.

* GWB gained more than 7 million more votes compared 2000, more than twice the vote increase Bill Clinton gained between 1992 and 1996.

* GWB won the Electoral College 286-252 (31 states to 19 states).

* GWB increased his support across nearly all minority voters compared to 2000.

* GWB increased the lead in Republican Governorships.

* GWB increased the Republican state legislatures.

And last but not least, these freeptards say:

* Democratic leader Tom Daschle became the first Senate leader in 52 years to lose a re-election.


The repukes keep YELLING at me that this was a decisive, monumental victory that will go down as one of the most profound ass-kicking's in the history of our Republic.

And they tell me that they call it like they see it.

Whatever shall we do? We have to discredit these repukes? We need to round them up and put them in camps before these facts get out!

The joys of moling, as opposed to just trolling and just getting tombstoned, are as follows:

DU is absolutely the easiest place to stir up. Those guys are like bees. You shoulda seen what I did to them during the primaries. It was great.

Once you have the star and the 1000+ posts.. you are good to go. You can post anything you want. You can get a star by donating a dollar or two.

Even 400 posts or so.. start making NewYawkers lists.. and you know your in.

They love me there... they dont know how much I truely despise them. I hate them all.

But the point is.. once youre a star with a 1000+ posts.. you can be pro life, pro iraq war, pro any GOP platform and get them rats going and never get tombstoned. Your a dedicated DU'er! Pro Gun is absolutely acceptable once they dont suspect you.

This board, I think will be my alternate home to DU. I'm glad I learned about you (on DU)

MY TIPS FOR POSTING

#1 - dont show up a newbie and post some GOP thing.. they will spot you in a second... just post nonsense, pretend to be a die hard dean or keebler elf kucinich supporter who just cant stand "conservative" kerry .. and get your count and record set.

#2 Stay away from the Christian Bashing until you are established. I know thats hard since DU is so disgusting.

#3 A good way to get up your count is hang out in the lounge and do their movie things, sports stuff, whatever... all the nonsense that goes on there. The goal is to get your numbers up... posts some LOL's on stuff... they think you are laughing with them, and you are really laughing at them.

#4 If you venture into GD or GD 2004 ... fake it for awhile.. then you can hammer them.

#5 Absolutely no gay bashing. You can do some later, but if you show up and start bashing gays... well this forum is by and for gays, and you will get a little "He disrupted poorly" by your name.

#6 Lie your ass off at times


#8 Learn their lingo - don't use terms like "tin hats", remember to capitalize "Democrat" (I know its hard), call the GOP repukes, repugs, etc... always put the * By Bush's name. Doesnt hurt and makes em all warm and wet.

#9 If you make a post like "My Dad emailed me this", "What are we going to do when the GOP exposes this" "What will we say about this" or some other sneaky way of putting out a GOP issue out, be very careful. They are well aware of this tactic.

While I didnt make your Top 10 DU'er list (thankfully) I've been a DU Member over a year, never been banned, 2000+ posts... obviously I can't post my name to prove it.. but nice to find this site today.

Hi folks I recently got back from Iraq where we are fighting bush's insane war. I signed up here at DU before the election and decided to wait until things had settled down a bit to post anything. As I was saying I was in Iraq and I survived it without a scratch. My unit was pulled back into Kuwait and would you believe I fell off of a truck while loading up on supplies? I hurt my back and luckily for me got sent home and am waiting on my pending disability discharge. I joined up in 91 and used to be a right winger but as I got older I started seeing things differently and now am pretty much a liberal. I really didn't care much about the stolen election in 2000 then in 03 I found my ass in Iraq and now I am heavily into getting republicans out of office. I am doing some work with other veterans to try to expose to the world just how bad bush has made things. I won't drop any names of folks I'm working with just yet so please don't ask. In case you fine folks are wondering most of the soldiers in Iraq hate Bush so I ask that DUers please be kind to them I realize some of the frustration he has caused and a few folks take it out on the troops. As for those who do support the chimp most of them are just young an naive and it doesn't help that the military is "collective" and free thought is not encouraged. A few I have spoken with supported bush until they got home and started getting informed on just how awful he really is. Anyway, thanks for listening to me and if anyone has questions I will try to answer them.

I've done some prowling over in freeperville, and i must say that some of the posters are quite intelligent and it shows...

I would imagine, given a different situation that they would be quite likeable.

On the other hand, I've seen, I believe the term is, "knuckle draggers" and even on their best days, I wouldnt want to know em.

We are really too quick to judge and condem. They are people too, they just have a different point of view, and honestly, if we want to show them our point of view and have them see things from our perspective, insulting and degrading them all the time isnt going to help.

when I was younger, I thought I was a republican. I thought it was the coolest thing, when daddy bush kicked saddams ass. as I grow, and I look around me, I find my thinking more in line with the Democrats. People can change, and to any freepers hanging around I invite you to open your minds and look around.
