Dan Rather says the memo story isn't why he's leaving CBS Evening News
and I believe him.

He will still work on both 60 Minutes Shows.

Rather is getting up in age, and its only natural that he slow down.

And I'm not posting this thread "to get attention".

3. Well, you've got my
attention anyway! :)

I believe him too. He deserves a break and I think his first love is investigative reporting. I'm glad he'll be doing more of it.

I hope he breaks the story that brings about the Bush Cabal's downfall!

4. I remember a confrontation with Poppy Bush a few years back
during an interview.

You're right -- I'd love to see him do more investigative stuff.

7. Good that he will still be around
I hated the idea of him slinking away in disgrace.

I'm listening to too much RW radio. Even if I'm just checking out the opposition voice, I have to make sure to not drink the koolade.

You could start to believe that the Dems will be increasingly marginalized, or that Rather was leaving because of Memogate. I don't need to let them demoralize me right now. Not especially when I see signs that they're reign won't last as long as they'd like.

God bless Dan Rather!

9. about listening to RW radio
I conducted a experiement that lasted two months.

I listened to nothing but RW radio -- Neal Boortz on my way to work, during lunch flipped between Boortz and OReilly, and on the way home, to Hannity.

I was so damn angry all the time. I just wanted to yell at people and pick fights.

And then I would come on DU and read the news, which was the complete opposite of what those assholes were reporting.

They outright lie and distort.

8. I just posted this on
another thread..I believe him too.

The fascists are pushing the story that Dan is leaving "THe Evening News" because he knows he's wrong..Bullshit.

A DUer pointed out that Dan has "integrity" and this makes more sense than anything. I hope he writes a book.

13. I recall hearing that he was retiring anyway back at the time of "MEMOgate
Which is a ridiculous thing to call it considering no one that I've heard of has proven the memos were forged. I think that is just Freeper myth that has come to be truth, when it's not. Kind of like Gore inventing the internet, or saying so. (He never said he did)

14. I refuse to refer to that episode as "Memogate"
to this day, Bush has not address a single, solitary issue raised during that investigation.
