Frost said to be making calls about DNC
The Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) - Defeated Texas Congressman Martin Frost is among potential candidates for chairman of the Democratic National Committee who are telephoning members about the situation, a leading Democrat said Monday.

"The following candidates are making phone calls to DNC members - Howard Dean, Donnie Fowler, Martin Frost and Leo Hindery," said Mark Brewer, party chairman in Michigan and president of the Association of State Democratic Chairs.

Frost, a member of the House Democratic leadership team before Texas redistricting cost him his job in the November, would add a high-profile name to the mix of potential candidates. Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack and former Labor Secretary Alexis Herman have said they will not try for the job.

Former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb has sent videos to the state chairmen promoting his interest in the job, Brewer said. Fowler is a Democratic strategist and son of a former national chairman. Hindery is a New York businessman and former chairman of the Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network LLC, a New York-based sports cable channel that televises New York Yankees baseball games.

1. He's an Intelligent, Decent Dem---Oh, Wait, That Would Be
almost ANY Dem, as opposed to almost any Repuke. Seeing him and the others who were foxhunted by DePlane-DePlane-DELAY at their press conference was so sad. They were so impressive in their articulateness and decency.

14. I was hoping for some information
I hear that Frost was responsible for deciding how money was distributed in TX. I also hear he did a crappy job..typical of the DNC deciding where the money went.

Do you have any information about that?

8. DNC needs the most loyal Democrat in the world

All those like James Carville and Donna Braszille need not apply IMO.

I am so sick of these that talk out of both sides of their mouths.

Anyone who has not stood up, for Democratic ideals every second of their life will not be trusted by me.

That goes for all other positions.

No Republican committee would ever have some one that leans Left!

10. Martin Frost is a good guy
who supported the dems in Texas when they were fighting redistricting. He also lost his seat due to Delay's redistricting plan. He may be my second choice (after Dean).

11. This would piss off DeLay to no end
The #1 target in DeLay's redistricting scheme was Martin Frost.

12. oh boy it sure would.
Plus, Martin was chair one year of the House re election committee which involved FUND RAISING, and he's pretty good at that.

He is truly a good guy, he was a great Congressman and got the shaft big time. It would be pure Poetic Justice if he got the DNC chair

13. He was chairman of the DCCC
Which is responsible for electing Democrats to the House. The problem was, we actually lost seats in the House that year.
