I knew it was a hoax when they based it on the Russian incident - as if 'murikans give a damn what happens to Ruskis.

Are there "insecurity moms?" Are there any of those here?

But a friend who's not very informed politically, who I didn't see often until this month, actually. She voted for Bush, because ... well, I didn't want to get into it, but basically she trusts him on national security. We just don't talk politics...

I've never been so disgusted/turned off/appalled & insulted by an answer.

But I voted for John Kerry....

Maybe cause I was interested in feeling safe or something insane like that.

In a complex world that is more than black and white, I feel that Kerry was the only one who could restore our nation's credibility and offer a thoughtful future for our country. On November 3rd I cried for myself, my husband, my little girls, John Kerry and my nation.

That's another of those two-word quickies that are absolutely destroying political discourse in this country...

and I voted for Kerry, even though I am more of a left libertarian -- because he was the ONLY logical choice for someone, no matter the political affiliation, who wasn't insane or ignorant.

I want my three-year-old boy to be very safe, and, in my opinion, safety involves addressing the root causes of terrorism -- can anyone say CIA-backed coup, or support of state-sanctioned murder of Palestinians, or multinational oil companies or friends of the money sheik, or manipulating wars or "collateral damage?" Bush's foreign policy is the most reckless, idiotic bullshit that I've ever seen, in my lifetime -- which isn't very long. Bush and the neocrappers are in total denial of reality -- which they've basically admitted -- and they scare the holy crap out of me.

I would trust Charlie Manson with foreign policy more than these people. At least Chuck KNOWS who the pigs are.

But she also goes to a politically active Baptist church and thinks Dubya is "a good Christian man" and all that rot. She told me once that "Saddam is Hitler times two" and that even though Saddam didn't attack on 9-11 that "they all hate us" so we're better off getting Saddam now.

They are everywhere. All over the place. I guess I am one to some extent. I want a president who is going to keep my kids safe and I voted for Kerry. I take a longer, broader and deeper view than just that one issue, though.
