I encourage all DUers to visit right wing publications like the
National Review. Why? Know your enemy. We all need to be refreashed and reinvirogerated by the neo-con world view. It is sobering. The following article kinda sums up their agenda.

Worldwide Value
Bush’s appreciation of freedom shapes his foreign policy.

According to the exit polls, George W. Bush owes his victory to the priority attached by millions of voters to "moral values." This somewhat nebulous term is said to have trumped terrorism, Iraq, and the economy as a driving force behind the turnout — and the outcome.

Inevitably, some of President Bush's critics (possibly on the right, and certainly on the left, once they recover from the electoral-shock trauma) will interpret this finding insidiously: They will assert that the president's conduct of the war on terror and, in particular, his efforts to consolidate the liberation of Iraq do not enjoy the popular mandate accorded to his social conservative agenda. We will be told, at the very least, that W. won despite his handling of the war, thanks to the help of the evangelical Christians and like-minded folks who turned out for other reasons.

The reality is that the same moral principles that underpinned the Bush appeal on "values" issues like gay marriage, stem-cell research, and the right to life were central to his vision of U.S. war aims and foreign policy. Indeed, the president laid claim squarely to the ultimate moral value — freedom — as the cornerstone of his strategy for defeating our Islamofascist enemies and their state sponsors, for whom that concept is utterly anathema.

It follows, then, that among those who deserve credit for shaping this stunning triumph of American virtues and values are the much-maligned "neoconservatives" and their friends, who have been responsible for helping Bush design and execute his wartime agenda. Special recognition and thanks are thus accorded, for example, to: Vice President Dick Cheney and key members of his staff (including Lewis "Scooter" Libby, John Hannah, and David Wurmser); the National Security Council's Condoleezza Rice, Robert Joseph, and Elliott Abrams; the Defense Department's Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Douglas Feith, and William Luti; and the State Department's John Bolton, Paula Dobriansky, and Paula DeSutter. These people — and too many others — have helped the president imprint moral values on American security policy in a way and to an extent not seen since Ronald Reagan's first term.

The important thing now, of course, is not simply to acknowledge past achievements, but to build upon them. This will require, among other things:

The reduction in detail of Fallujah and other safe havens utilized by freedom's enemies in Iraq — a necessary precondition not only to holding elections there next year, but to the establishment of institutions essential to a functioning and stable democracy;

Regime change — one way or another — in Iran and North Korea, the only hope for preventing these remaining "Axis of Evil" states from fully realizing their terrorist and nuclear ambitions;

2. So now they're admitting that there are such things as "neocons?"
That's a new one.

4. No, there was
a reason the author put "neocon" in quotes. He wasn't acknowledging that they exist per se, but rather using the term that their critics will use.

3. Insidious
Bush and the National Review are the men behind the curtain. Most of the world finds Bush to be the problem to gaining peace. These countries think HE will attack them pre-emptively and are developing weapons to protect themselves. Bush has reignited the cold war. He also knows he stands a good chance of controlling the "masses" through his stupid and hateful propaganda and constant scare tactics.
Bush is truly turning delusional and maniacal.

You notice that W nor his brothers or any of their kids have ever "volunteered" for war. They are not starting now.

Bush is on a mega (Un)Christian Jihad with our kids and our economy paying the price and innocents killed by the thousands. Again, we can expect four more years of hell.

7. Nuclear Programs Are Not WMD Programs
Of course to trolls, Hussein had WMD programs also. In fact Bush and his administration verified it and showed us the pictures. Remember?
Condi explained how Iraq's drones (plastic kites with duct tape) could annihilate American cities with 45 minutes. Powell showed us the labs.

Hey, Bush took you to the cleaners once and I guess you liked the feeling. Trolls are that way.

9. No their not! I sometimes wonder to myself when reading
the posts at DU if were all on the same page in understanding just how serious these folks are in carrying out their PAX Americana agenda. There is alot of anger and spit elicited here but how many of us take the time and effort to peruse these right wing sites and see for ourselves just what they believe.

I am guilty myself by focusing just on progressive sites and placing my faith in progressives and liberals and their interpretations.

I encourage everyone to place at least five conservative links in there "favorites" and read them often. Were need to hear the swill from the horses mouth.

8. I hate the word "Islamofascist"
It's typical rightwing bullshit. It displays both a disturbingly bigoted opinion of the entire religion of Islam and a staggering ignorance of the meaning of the word "fascist." Islamic fundamentalists are radical evil nutjobs, much like their Christian fundie counterparts. However, also like their Christian fundie counterparts, they are not indicitive of the beliefs and sentiments of the majority of their religion's followers.

And clearly the Neocon wingnuts don't know the definition of fascism. If they did, they'd be far more alarmed at the fascist designs and corporate-powered jingoistic überpatiotism of Bush & Co. A bunch of raggedy terrorists in a cave who hate the West because Allah told them they'll have 72 virgins in heaven are not fascists. God, I hate the right wing so much.

10. I agree with you.
I work with a Morocco Muslim. He and his wife just had a baby with some health problems. They are as family oriented, humble, and peaceful people whom I've ever met.

Fascism is the government and corporations being one. That is what we have with Bush. Bush would like to add an additional element to make it a theocratic ultra christian hook up with corporations to run the government here. I don't know exactly what that is called. A coalition of Falwell/Halliburton/Bush. Sounds evil to me.

11. Visiting goppie-land
What about Tim McVeigh? I guess his kind isn't a real threat, cause white supremacists have this annoying tendency to be...white. Or Anglo-Saxon, or whatever they want to call themselves. I guess all those Americans dying in OK just don't register with most neocons; I wish the sinister side would exploit this blind spot, would point out the obvious-not all our attackers are Muslim. I feel like I'm flogging a dead horse for pointing this out, the gop is just continuously exploiting people's emotions

12. Excellent Post
McVey performed a horrific act on innocents. He considered himself a Christian and was a veteran of Desert Storm. He had a network.

We didn't start suspecting every Christian of committing or wanting to commit the same acts.

There exists a few McVeys in the Muslim world also.
