CNN itemizes $388 billion bill, no mention of $2 mil for Bush yacht
A VERY impressive laundry list of where the money goes, but no mention of Junior's f**king $2 million "presidential" YACHT, "Sequoia."

:grr:

Bush signs $388 billion spending bill

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/12/08/congress.spending.ap/index.html

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush on Wednesday signed into law a $388 billion legislative package that covers the spending of every federal agency but the Pentagon and Department of Homeland Security.

Congress sent the measure, which covers the fiscal year that began October 1, to the president on Tuesday. A temporary spending measure was to expire at midnight.

Congress passed the package November 20. Lawmakers delayed sending it to the White House until they overturned language that would have made it easier for some members of Congress and their aides to enter Internal Revenue Service offices and see income tax returns.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the president was not troubled by the billions of dollars in special-interest measures added onto the bill by lawmakers. "The fact that members of Congress worked together with us to meet our highest priorities and show spending restraint elsewhere in the budget is an important step in the president's hopes of reducing the deficit," McClellan said.

1. Wanna bet that the $2 million isn't...
... for a new Presidential yacht, but to move the existing one to that fish pond in Bush's back forty in Crawford? :P

2. This president is never troubled
by spending our money. Not a top priority for him.

3. It's basically a non-issue.

I don't give a flying fuck if the POTUS has a yacht, or not. $2 million is chump change, in the grand scheme of things.

7. Agree - not worth fighting about
This isn't Bush's yacht - it's the presidential yacht used by presidents for decades until Jimmy Carter got rid of it. Not that big of a deal.

4. My favorite line in this...
Veterans: Veterans' health care programs will get $30.3 billion, $1.9 billion over last year and $1.2 billion more than Bush wanted.

8. $2M ?
sorry but 2 million won't buy much a yacht, especially not one that would be big enough for Emperor Bush's ego. His yacht is the USS Abraham Lincoln

9.  Yacht is assessed at almost 10 million. Are
the owners obligated to sell it back
for 2?

10. I'm not sure, I just saw the $2 million price tag in several articles
I'd pay Bush $2 million to take an early retirement, but that's about it.
