Seriously, why isn't Novak getting the same heat...
...that Miller and Cooper are getting.

Why are they being threatened with jail for not talking and there doesn't seem to be any pressure being applied to him?

What gives?

7. That's my guess.
Otherwise his refusal would lead to the same jail time.

8. There is no reason for the media to respect the" fif".
That is for the government to do. The media should be raking Novak over the coals for this. That sonofabitch is still on television with so called Democrats who shouldn't be seen dead with him. But then again those Democrats are.

16. He doesn't deserve anyone's respect.
He's a hateful old man and this world will be better off the day he's canned.

11. If Novak pleaded the fifth amendment before the grand jury
the prosecutor would have offered transactional immunity to Novak in exchange for his testimony. If Novak continued to refuse to testify the prosecutor would have gotten a court order granting such immunity and ordering Novak to testify. If Novak still refused to testify he would go to jail for contempt of court. Ken Starr followed this procedure more than once in the Great Republican Crotch Sniffing Case.

The fact that none of this has occurred (as far as we know) tells me that Novak either testified fully or that he is a target of the grand jury. If he is a target he would not be called to testify under DOJ procedural rules. However, he would have received a "target letter" from the prosecutor. As I recall Novak's lawyer has refused to comment on whether Novak has received a target letter.

13. You know, I should really know my law before I answer these questions
I'd forgotten the prosecutor had that option.

14. But your first post was very entertaining.
I thought it was funny and then I remembered the stuff I posted. I think Susan McDougal did all of her time for contempt of court after Starr went through all the steps.

6. I have yet to hear anyone from the"media" ask the question.
Is the media really willing to sacrifice these two reporters to protect a scumbag like Novak? It seems they are. So much for the media.

12. Obviously
He probably snitched on somebody. Cut himself a deal. Either that, or they're just trying to sweat him for a while before they charge him.

I have enough experience with the criminal justice system to know how it works.

15. Rules must apply equally. But they won't unless we let them know
that our laws are full of double-standards. What he did was to be complicit in treason, and yet his network lets him go happy go lucky.
