Parents Television Council Owns 99.8% of FCC Complaints/Take it back!
Come to find out the FCC gets 99.8% of their 240,000 complaints from ONE SINGLE group. This group is the Parents Television Council. They are a group Headed by a fellow by the the name of Brent Bozell. Founder and President of the Media Research Center, activist and voice of many RW conservative media outlets. He sometimes sits in for Rush Limbaugh as a guest host.
http://www.parentstv.org/PTC/aboutus/bozellbio.htm

You can use the Parents Television Council WEB PAGE to FILE YOUR COMPLAINTS against SAVAGE and the LIKE.

It looks like they have set up an easy to use form for us all to use to bitch and complain to the FCC (Mr Powell)

They set it up for US TO USE to complain to the FCC. Why leave a good thing alone?

Why let the RW fanatics file 99.8% of the 240,000 complaints. Lets help them out.

http://www.cleanup.tv/onlinecomplaint.asp

File as many as you want against broadcasts the RW media has assaulted you with. They set a new standard so that certain words could not be played, and Private Ryan could not be played on a number of stations.

It apparently works. I used it to complain about the Lies on FOX on a particular issue. But I think there are other ways to utilize this great tool.

My complaint went on to the FCC without a hitch.

Thanks for the idea.
Wonder how long it will take for them to modify it if enough people start doing this?

9. FoxNews is not subject to FCC indecency rules
It is a cable channel. Only broadcast channels, such as ABC and CBS are subject. With cable it is pretty much anything goes. That's how HBO gets away with nudity and profanity.

10. some issues we can own media ownership? etc.
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 03:21 PM by juliagoolia
"Janet Jackson lit the match," says Robert Thompson, a professor of media and popular culture at Syracuse University. "The Parents Television Council and other groups coordinated to make noise about this. The FCC wants to look like it's responding to all this stuff."

Thompson says he isn't against investigations into indecency, but he finds the fines a bit disingenuous. They are being levied as FCC Chairman Michael Powell pushes for deregulation to let media companies grow larger.

"My thinking is the FCC should be paying more attention to ownership issues and less to content," Thompson says.

http://www.fcc.gov/eb/ enforcement bureau. What they do. What can we bitch about, and get them to do?
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent United States government agency, directly responsible to Congress. The FCC was established by the Communications Act of 1934 and is charged with regulating interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable. The FCC's jurisdiction covers the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. possessions.

who is defining indecent. I find bigotry indecent. Can we as a massive voice change bigotry to indecency?

If anyone ever has the chance to see or talk to him, ask how much he had to pay Vince McMahon to settle out of court......
