Teddy Roosevelt sure would've beat bush
I have heard from 3 bush voters that also liked and admired Teddy Roosevelt a lot.

I don't know if they had any idea if you look at his policies that he was basically a liberal/progressive environmentalist who went after and destroyed big business monopolistic cheaters.

A guy like that would appeal to a huge number of rural voters, hunters, farmers, average folk.

He also had the macho tough guy, cowboy image, but that is who he WAS unlike this PRETEND cowboy Bush who's afraid of horses.

That kind of candidate would be a sure winner. Really bridge the gap between conservatives and democrats enough to be a juggernaut.

1. Sure--if the D.C. Dems would allow him to run,
which they would not.

3. Probably would have beaten him UP, too.
For all his faults, he certainly walked the walk.

4. John Kerry beat Bu$h. Electronic voting machines prevented him from
being put in office.

6. Bush's media would have turned Teddy's brashness into C-R-A-Z-Y
and derided him for riding his horse for photo ops.

7. Funny
I was mentally comparing the two just a while ago when Bush was touring the Clinton Library. Story is, he was gazing out the windows at the Arkansas River and mumbled, "A submarine could take this place out."
At first I thought it was something akin to what TR might say, but then I realized TR would know all the specs of US (and foreign) subs, the depth and speed of the river, access to that particular part of the river, etc.
Bush probably just thought: "Gee, look at all the water! Wouldn't a sub be cool here?"
