My diehard GOP father loves Joe Lieberman

And wonders why more democrats can't be like him.

If I didn't know anything else about the guy, that alone would tell me everything I needed to know.

and love him (your Dad) anyway. As my Dad became older (over 70 y.o.) I stopped arguing with him because I cherished him too much. I'm glad that I "chilled out" because two years ago he lost contact with the real world (advanced Alzheimer's).

As stupid as it comes across, I would even enjoy him talking his right wing stuff, even though it often irritated the hell out of me, rather than having to try to understand his world that is confused and ever-changing.

by GOP standards. He's way too hawkish on foreign policy matters for my taste; maybe that's why your father likes him so much. :shrug:
