A co-worker has asked me to verify that...

...the Bush-Cheney stance on gay marriage is that consenting adults should be allowed to live in whatever arrangement they choose but that "marriage" should be a term left strictly for a man and a woman. I, too, understand this to be their position but when I did a Google search I found articles from the past year trumpeting Bush support of the amendment banning gay marriage. My co-worker wants to be able to cite sources for their position in her next political discussion with her fundie brother. Can anyone provide links to the current Bush position on this after all of his flip-flops?

2. your co-worker is WRONG!

MI just passed a law prohibiting any benefits given to gays and lesbians. These folks want to exclude gays from public life - and return us to the days when having a non-traditional relationship was criminal.

3. Bush and Cheney WERE for civil unions based on state votes

That was back in 2000. Now they use the "gay agenda" Theocon routine for votes, money and apparently an endless fountain of hate.

Bush and Cheney are for amending the Constitution to put hate in it. That's all you need to know about them now.
