For Operation Iraqi Freedom, the rotation is consistent with the current force structure in Iraq of 17 brigades and three division headquarters. The troop list announced today includes:

48th Infantry Brigade (Separate), Georgia Army National Guard

172d Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Ft. Wainwright, Alaska

1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Ft. Drum, N.Y.

101st Airborne Division, Air Assault (division headquarters and 4 brigades), Ft. Campbell, Ky.

1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Ft. Riley, Kan.

4th Infantry Division (division headquarters and 4 brigades), Ft. Hood, Texas

The first units deploying to Iraq are scheduled to arrive in mid-2005, and successive units will deploy at various times through mid-2006.

2. Alaska?
Are they actually getting any desert training before they're shipped out of arctic land, or are we really just sending more meat to the grinder? That's just insane.

Lynn, I'm so sorry for your family. I hope and pray that something or someone keeps your hubby (and all the others) from being shipped out.

3. Thanks guys.
He already did 16 mths in Iraq and he was listed as non-deployable then; he's still listed as non-deployable (he has degenerative back disease) and we know how much that's going to stop them sending him a second time.

And he's scheduled to retire this coming year. That won't stop them from sending him again, either.

With the NG and Rs having to do 18-23 mths tours in Iraq, so likely will the active duty troops.

And now things are just SO PEACHY KEEN CATASTROPHIC SUCCESSful in Iraq, they're AIRLIFTING SUPPLIES to the troops.

God DAMN you, bush, God DAMN you Cartel, and God DAMN you, every MFing bastard who voted for the lying war criminal POS.

4. My sympathies Lynn.
I'm afraid our leaders will not leave until the debacle has become
much worse. I have relatives sucked into the vortex too.
