Has Anybody Else 'Tuned It Out' By Now ??? (No Matter Your Candidate)
Edited on Sun Dec-21-03 03:48 PM by WillyT
I'm just wonderin, cause what at one time was thoughtful prose, or posted articles to point out the possible weaknesses in candidate X, Y, or Z, has become just so much annoying noise.

I'm supporting Dean, and as of now, the ONLY thing that will move me from that position, is what I see and hear FROM DEAN, with my own eyes and ears. If Dean does not become the nominee, I will make further decisions at that time. Basically... ABB.

C'mon Clark People, Kerry People, etc... Is any of this stuff in the last month or so REALLY gonna change your mind???

On edit: Took away all my well intentioned fun!

:hi:

On edit II: Remember when we all used to have fun here???

:hi:

1. No, I still have Kerry as number one
Despite all the Dean supporters saying Dean is inevitable, sorry, I don't buy it. I tend to think there might be a hint of bias there.

But it is still fun to pretend all this stuff matters on DU, otherwise I wouldn't be here.

2. No. I am fully committed to Clark.
DU raises issues that I like to be aware of. I don't want to stick my head in the sand, but as you said, my vote is Clark's to lose.

3. a hearty 'no' from a kucinich kid!
negative posts do nothing except make me shake my head and wonder how all of the bad things said are going to be suddenly forgotten once we have our candidate...so very counterproductive...i wonder if it was like this in the past...

one love
spike

abb indeed!

5. watch out!
no nicknames!!

I think most folks have made up their mind (certainly DUers) and are just watching the flow of events to see what happens until their primary.

No malice was intended, I was just thinkin that everybody's pretty much made up their minds by now, and it seems I was on ta something.

Mods: Ya want me to edit the nicks??? I'll do it... even though I thought they were cute.

*scuffs the ground with shoe in embarrassment*

10. it's ok, Willy
you're just an innocent in this DU world of rules and codes ;-)

I was thinking about running a poll which asks "Will anything said in the GD: Primary forum or on DU itself matter one WHIT to the outcome of the election?" I don't think I can fit it into the subject line though :D

candidate's correct name.

8. Heavens no!
I support Kucinich but if someone produced something between now and whenever saying that he had once said DU was harmless, or that NAFTA was great, or that deregulation was good for us, then I would reconsider my support for him.

I actually want something better for my children, and closing my eyes to reality won't help them very much now, will it?

9. may i ask why no nicknames?
it was painfully obvious to me that the poster had no ill wishes or intentions...have things gotten so bad that we have to walk on egshells now?

this is a serious question
i am relatively new here, just learning hte ropes, so to speak...

i do know the mods have their hands full tho!

13. Not tuned out yet
I admit I am strongly behind my candidate. However, I like to think I am still open to changing my mind if something "big" were to happen either negative for my candidate or positive for another.

The primary season is tough for everybody. I've never been "energized" about politics much before, it just seems more important this time and worth bearing a little mudslingin and battlin.

cheers

14. Oh I Agree... It's Just That I'd Probably See That Big Change Myself...
If Dean were to really 'step in it', as it were, I'd reevaluate. It's just that wading through a couple of thousand anti-Dean, or anti-Clark, Or anti-Anybody posts here, ain't gonna do it for me any longer.

If I happen on some info here that leads me to some self examination, fine. But there is just too much coal here as of late, and not enough diamonds. Ya know???

I've started utilizing the "hide thread" option quite a bit lately. I've caught myself replying on a couple threads & am now chiding myself for doing so...what possessed me to participate in circlejerks!?!:spank:

19. All too much
I don't have the time or patience to follow the many rants against the candidates. One rant is as foolish as the next. Yet here I am after scanning the latest list of discussions.

Who I support comes down to which CANDIDATE impresses me the most. I am perfectly capable of determining the good and bad points of each. No rant is going to convince me otherwise.

This is also why I think endorsements are a waste.

I'd feel best about Clark being the nominess because I think he is invulnerable to a lot of the crap that the Bush campaign will throw.

Dean is also a fighter and his grassroots campaign is very impressive. I think it shows he can be an innovative leader.

Of course what I think doesn't matter much.

I look forward to seeing how people actually VOTE.

20. I'm with you, Mad As Hell. The only dem candidate I would hate to
have to vote for is Lieberman. Otherwise, I couldn't care less which one gets the nod. I will vote against Bush no matter what, even though I think a vote for Lieberman is a useless vote.

So, to me, the endless comparison of dem candidates is a waste of time. I'm voting dem, and that's it.

21. Still undecided...
willingly. I have *never* been exposed to so much detail on the Primary race as I have here on DU for this go round. I'm still trying to figure out if that is a good or bad thing. There's plenty of things to make righteous noise over, so I have usually waited until the show comes to town to make a choice.
