What are the odds of NOTHING going our way?

Let's just take it from Nov. 2nd

Exit Polls went to Kerry - Bush "wins"

Iraq war still rages on - Bush "wins"

Valerie Plame case not settled - Bush "wins"
and Novak "wins"

O Liely and Rush still out of their jail cells - Bush "wins"

Ballots and Suppression like crazy - Media and Bush "win"

Kerry puts his little toe in the Let's Count All The Votes water and Pulls The Toe out real quick - Bush "Wins"

Time magazine had the nerve to declare Bush its Person 0f the Year - Bush "wins"

What are the odds and what did I forget to include?

There MUST be a silver lining coming up for us real soon!
Let's keep pushing for justice!

But the wait has been agony. BushCo is Teflon.

4. Me too I keep wishing on a star

Trying to inform everyone I know about FRAUD

Trying hard to never feel defeated.

Quoting Churchill: Never, never quit

Quoting MLK: "I Have a Dream" and when I wake up every morning...

7. I was thrilled to read the ACLU issue today

But, it should be all over the news and all I see is Robert Blake and his little Rosie.

I have seen Rusfeld quickly scrolled but that is it.
They put Georgie Boy in for the entire fake press conference to give Rummy a stamp of approval.

When will we get a brake with a follow through?

8. Yeah, I caught that
It's been my understanding for quite some time that Bush authorized the torture of detainees. I'm glad the ACLU is on this, but I don't see the political gain.

Watch the Gonzales hearings. If we turn just one Republican Senator, I will be heartened. But at this point I don't see the Dems organizing to get votes against confirming Gonzales. Leahy will ask some tough questions. There will be a few speeches. Gonzales will be confirmed. Next stop 2006, and I am not greatly optimistic that the Dems will organize against Bush's torture policies much less turn it into a winning issue.

I see a long hard fight.

13. Democrats are fighters..

We have fought civil rights battles.

We have battled for pro choice.

We have battled to see the end of the Viet Nam war.

We fought a glorious fight for John Kerry in '04.
We knew going in how they had stolen the election in '00 and we still fought like hell to register untold thousands of new voters.

We must not give up the battle.
I know that we can not give up but unless we grab tight to an issue and take to the streets to protest, we will not be heard.

Bush had the bold face nerve to make sure the protesters could not use the streets on January 20th in DC.

Where are we on that total injustice!

31. I was just gonna bring that up. This ACLU thing is big.
In order to really get Bush out of office, we need to think like Repug's. I know it's disgusting, but...we need some really repugnant proof of his 'moral values.' The ACLU docs shows that Bush was DIRECTLY aware of and approved Torture.

Also there was another thread here about docs proving that CIA types in Gittmo pretended to be FBI interrogating prisoners...thereby shifting the blame.

These scandals, plus whatever we can get on Kerik and/or anyone with Bushco who was involved with 9/11...prior TO would be a help.

Things are starting to break in the media...not as much as we'd like, but still... We're just being critical. We've accomplished a lot in a short time.

An oh, about Kerry NOT speaking out recently...I read in one of these threads (dated today I think) that Kerry brought up BCCI again...and money laundering still going on there...and how it should be checked on. By bringing it back into the spotlight, it was a red-flag he's starting the charge back in. I could be hallucinating, but...when he goes at BCCI, he goes at Bushco and OTHER evidence of their Fraud.

9. I'm an eternal optimist
But I'm beginning to lose hope.

We are so totally out of power, its truly amazing. Our only national power is the filibuster and even that is under threat.

Our state to state position is a little better, and there's where our best hope seems to lie.

Winning some Sec of State slots should be our very highest priority.

I have been outraged since the 2000 "election" and finally calmed myself down with "it's only 4 years ~ how bad can it really get and how much damage can they actually do??" *sigh*

Well,,,, I guess they showed me !!!

This group consists of Master Predators and this country is/was not ready to deal with them or even see them for what they are,,,,

28. Karen S, I am starting to feel the same way...
I was starting to think that maybe the tide was turning for "the good guys" for once, but Bush keeps winning. No matter what fucked up thing he says, or what unbelievably stupid thing he does, he comes out smelling like a rose.

Nothing sticks to this guy...nothing.

I thought that maybe election fraud would finally get him, but I am slowly losing hope on that as well. I have always believed in "karma"...what goes around comes around. If this is true, Shrub and the boys have quite a "day of reckoning" waiting for them.

When I look at the commercials on TV I've noticed that 95% of the ads are about pharma products.

It can make you depressed before turning on the light.
They are so slick, making you think that everything will be rosy is you just take Previcid.

Yes, I am thrilled to see them taking the heat but watch, Bush will protect them with write offs.

It is a sliver of hope that they will catch these crooks that prey on our health.

16. US MAJORITY DISAPPROVE of bush...and he ain't even coronated yet.
Just WAIT until he is coronated with $millions, while our uniformed men, women & kids continue to die in Iraq...just WAIT until the American public starts getting a real good look at the damaged troops living in poverty in their cars...just WAIT until bush starts in on destroying everything the MAJORITY of Americans don't want destroyed.

And that imminent DRAFT the military spokesman mentioned this weekend, most Americans aren't gonna like that at all. Too bad they didn't listen when K&E warned them.

And ALL of it will be 100% the fault of bush and the rightwingnuts. :)

I just don't see it. Deaths of American servicemen, falling dollar, outsourcing of jobs, 45 million Americans without health insurance and bushler is made Man of the Year. Bush has the media, big business, and falling IQ's on his side. Prepare yourself for Jeb in 2008, because the democrats don't have a clue how to stop the repugnantcan juggernaut. If bush goes down, it will be repugnantcans who do it. Democrats will be standing around talking about how they like bush as a person.

35. A bad run can last a hell of a long time.
I play poker for a living. Although hands are random, it is the nature of probability to create clumps or streaks. Good hands tend to come in clusters and so do bad hands. (Note for the math majors - I am extremely oversimplifying and I am aware of it.) When you are catching a streak of bad hands we call that: a bad run. Believe me, it can seem like it goes on forever.

We have definitely been running bad.

Some of that stuff is predicable however. When the Rush story broke, I predicted then that he would never serve a day. I also predicted that the Palme story would fade away with no results.

What do you do? YOU KEEP PLAYING!! That right. In poker you keep on playing because you know that a streak of bad "luck" (Poker professionals don't believe in luck.) can't last forever. You just use you poker skills to minimize your losses, secure in the knowledge that sooner or later, the card will run you way, and then you use your skills to maximize your wins.

That means that you fold losing hands, not back them to the hilt on principle.
