WES CLARK, NEW TV STAR
WES CLARK, NEW TV STAR

December 26, 2004 -- FORMER Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark is planning a new chapter of his career: He’s working on a sitcom.

Clark, a former U.S. Army general who lost in the Democratic primaries, is writing a television show based on his experiences.

It’s about a retired general who is reintegrating to civilian life after many years in the army.

"It’s going to be about what it’s like to be back in the real world," said a source.

Characters in the sitcom are going to be based on Clark’s real-life friends and acquaintances.

And who was it who objected to some of us pointing out Clark's lack of substance? This is just too perfect.

8. Some people can't just let go. . .
. . .the constant refight of the 2004 PRIMARIES is just so damned stupid. I am a big Clark fan and hope he runs again, however I am more focused on 2006 and when it comes to 2008 there may be a whole new crop of potential candidates to choose from. Its December of 2004, can we just move on. I post something about a Wes Clark sitcom and some people can't help but take pot shots at him.

to insult someone there must be a grain of thruth in what you say. That same rules works for comedy. So you have not been effective in either insulting me or being funny.
If you were to look at all the Clark threads over the last 2 years you would see I only show up on about 5 percent of them. That's hardly obsesive.

That tip was for free.

And the thread is KICKED to the top!

All I do is notice that on just about every Clark thread, a certain someone shows up to make gratuitously rude remarks. It looks like obsession to me, and probably to alot of others as well. Anyway, I point it out when I see it. I wasn't trying to be either insulting or funny, just making an observation. Maybe it really is only 5%, and I just happen to be supremely unlucky about which Clark threads I end up reading.

Oops, I kicked it again. Now yet more people will get to see how many DUers take what's written in the NY Post as gospel truth.:-(

Garbage is what this is. Whatever the truth might be, you won't find it in this article, in this newspaper. Bah Humbug!

Whatever it takes to bring the General down a notch is important to them. Like 34 years of Service to this country can be boiled down into a sitcom. Sharpton with a sitcom, maybe. General Wesley Clark, former SAUCER, 4 star General who won NATO's only war and a renown National Security Expert, Wounded War Hero and most decorated officer since Einsenhower with a sitcom.....priceless but impossible.

Wasn't this the same Newspaper that said Gepardt was selected as Kerry's VP?

Nuff Said.

Clark, who is also mulling over a run for governor of Arkansas, has met with two writers and a producer who have traveled to his home in Little Rock to see him.

It doesn't sound very compatible to me. I mean, what kind of character would he be in the sitcom?

And if I'm not mistaken, he has experience writing comedies! So maybe this idea isn't so far-fetched.

It could be really funny, as a matter of fact--the bumbling old general trying to reconnect with the civvies after so many years in the military. He orders people around, and they don't know why (but then again, neither does he).

And you are right again.....Wes Jr. is married to a beautiful Dark Haired Columbian beauty. Spanking may be out of the question.

Wes 3.0 must be a really beautiful! He was georgeous when first born....so he must be just an absolute cutie pie now.....just like the other Clark men folks!

For the record, I don't think that the general would "star" or even act in a sitcom. As Frenchie pointed out, this is a ridiculous rumor, from the ridiculous rumor mongering, NY Post.

I know for a fact that Wes Jr. is working on a sitcom of this nature, and although I don't doubt he's drawing on his own experiences in the army, and his father's, this is the first I'd heard that the General was actually taking a credited role in the project.

One of the Clark bloggers happened to be there the day these producers where in Clark's office.

Clark said they were there doing research for a documentary on folks in the military re-adjusting to civilian life.

The Ark. Governor rumor is just that, started by a single reporter who was rather wildly drawing conclusions based on nothing, really. Here it is recycled as some sort of fact.

As for Wes Jr.'s project, I'll wait to see if he has anything to say about it and how it relates to this story. But please, remember, this is the fucking NY Post gossip column, fer chrissakes. And it sounds like it is a bunch of facts, rumors and whatnot all rolled together.

since almost everyone who goes on about it here is also a hard core policy wonk who knows the issues and where Clark stands on them and would be backing Clark anyway even if he were spherical and green.

However it is truly frightening how much all of the "good looking" stuff is taken seriously by the main steam media in regards to candidates and the air play they are given.
