Faux Snooze predicts Roe hater Michael McConnell to replace Rehnquist
PNAC head William Kristol's eyes gleamed when talking about how wonderful Utah's Michael McConnell would be as a replacement to Rehnquist. Ah...I wonder why Bush (who says he doesn't use a litmus test for abortion) uses exactly that for his "decision".

http://www.pfaw.org/pfaw/general/default.aspx?oid=5030

Snip:
"Equating Roe v. Wade with the infamous Dred Scott and Plessy v. Ferguson decisions which upheld slavery and the segregation of African Americans, McConnell has openly called on the Supreme Court to reverse and overturn Roe as “it did in Brown v. Board of Education.”

Then there's a lot of complaints how McConnell is not really for separation of church and state. Other reasons to be alarmed by his nomination are here:

2. it doesn't matter who replaces Rehnquist
he's a right wing justice who always votes with Thomas and Scalia. The balance of the court will tip if O'Connor or Stevens is replaced by this type of justice.

3. But they are talking about replacing Rehnquist, not some other...
justice after Rehnquist has already been replaced. I never heard of him until I read this thread and the links. I don't think that this nomination could get through if only Republicans were eligible to vote on him. This guy with his record will not be nominated to replace Rehnquist or anybody else. Krystal is just yanking our chain so that whoever is nominated will look good compared to him!
