Poll question: Is the DLC Pure Evil?
I mean, we might as well quit beating around the bush. (no pun intended)

There are enough threads in this forum alone suggesting just this sentiment in a more subtle manner, why not come right out and say it?

1. The DLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Corporate America
Just like the RNC.

2. You apparently don't have much to do
except bash other Democrats.

Find something constructive to do with your time.

4. I have differences with their strategy
But to suggest that they are "pure evil" is just plain nuts.

6. The DLC is just (just?) another tool of the right...
to shift the "reference frame" farther to the right. Much as in orwell's 1984, when you lose the ability to speak of such ideas as fairness, equality, class, etc, you lose the ability to think of such ideas.

That is the goal of the DLC. Yes, it is evil, as evil as the repugs, for they ARE the repugs, just a different name.

7. Corporate funding of the DLC is not *evil,* but it is unwanted
It's something we should not tolerate at all, but it's not evil as in Adolf Hitler or Joseph Stalin. If we call the DLC "evil," we're just diluting the term just as the term "fascist" was diluted to mean anything except the original definition of corporatism, extreme nationalism, and bigotry rolled together.

8. Yes, they are evil, traitorous neocon anti-American sellouts
And the fact that more of them turn up on PNAC documents all the time, proves it.

10. No--half evil which is much worse because it's difficult to unite against
Daschle and Bob Shrum for example aren't malevolent assholes by any means, but as influential members of the opposition party they are ineffective, dangerous and directly harmful to the country and its people.

11. No, just too caught up in the Beltway mentality
I think the poor things really believe that they're the salvation of the Democratic Party, and that getting rid of all the nasty peace activists, people of color, economic populists, feminists, GLBT people, advocates of universal health care, advocates of progressive taxation, environmentalists, and labor activists will win the hearts of the legendary swing voters.

12. BushCo's back door to the Democratic Party . . .
to ensure that the Dems don't get too uppity . . . BushCo leaves nothing to chance, be it elections or political "opposition" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge . . . say no more, know what I mean?) . . .
