http://edition.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/asiapcf/12/30/tsunami.powellvisit/ In explaining why Jeb Bush was chosen to make the trip, Bush's statement said, "He has extensive experience in the state of Florida with relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts."

I'm glad he's going over there since his pussy brother doesn't wanna catch cold.

But to think America would vote in another Bush is absolutely not going to happen. OK, maybe if we do NOTHING about BBVs, yeah...he'll get in.

3. That's what I said in 1999 when I heard Junior was running.
Remember at that time, the mess Poppy left the country in was the benchmark. I didn't think that anybody would be stupid enough to nominate, let alone vote for another Bush. And that was before anybody realized what an idiot Junior was.

The Repukes will run Jeb. They might wait until 2012 to do it, but they will do it. And the stupid "values" Freeps will fall for it all over again.

15. I do think he will run. and also---
He does seem to be on the smart side but this is not going to do it in this world. Bush took so long. world can see we only got him out of bed or cutting brush because some one said he was really looking bad, and it works the wrong way to send his brother now. Specially after people said maybe Clinton should go. He may as well have sent one of the twins. I think this is called having a tin ear. Or I would call it rich white mans think. I can not wait to hear the calls to c-span to day.

39. He's a PNAC signatory. They sent one of their own to case the joint.
As a PNACer, he is certain to be on the lookout for new Muslim turf to invade and "conquer." After all, they view Iraq as just the starting point in a domino-style takeover of the entire Middle East. Read: Arab/Muslim. The quake/tsunami area is wholeheartedly Muslim. It is catastrophically weakened and in disarray - extremely ripe for the picking, and they could use an "easy victory" to notch their bedposts with. He's prospecting for the cabal.

Fla. Gov. Talks Daughter, Chokes Up

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Gov. Jeb Bush choked up on the campaign trail Monday as he asked members of a Pentecostal church to pray for his daughter, Noelle, who is in a drug treatment program.

"Every time I think about my daughter, it's very hard," Bush said after speaking at the Restoration Christian Center. "I appreciate the fact that thousands of people are praying for her and praying for our family. I know there are others out there who are going through similar things."

Noelle Bush, 24, was arrested in January at a Tallahassee pharmacy drive-through window for allegedly trying to buy the anti-anxiety drug Xanax with a fraudulent prescription.

A judge last month found her in contempt of court and sent her to jail for three days after a worker at the center where she was receiving court-ordered drug treatment found her carrying prescription pills.

They have too much to hide with 9-11, all the tortures, the 2.3 trillion that was "lost" in Sept 2002.. they won't give up the WHite HOuse. Plus, even Barbara Bush, Shrubs daughter, was initiated into the Skull and Bones last year. Even John Kerry voted to allow women in the Skull and Bones in 93 when they changed the rules to allow women in. Such a drag cuz she is kind of foxy. I think Jenna will end up possibly being the decent one of the whole Bush nazi clan.

21. Actually, Barbara did not join S&B.
Stories differ on whether they snubbed her or she snubbed them.

First Daughter Barbara Bush may not have been snubbed by Yale's Skull and Bones club, after all.

The London Telegraph claimed this week that the 22-year-old senior had been passed over by the 172-year-old secret society to which her father, grandfather, great-grandfather and other family members belonged.

But Alexandra Robbins, who chronicled the society's history in "Secrets of the Tomb," tells us, "I heard she she was tapped by Skull & Bones, but she turned them down. I don't think she needs any more Skull & Bones connections. She has them."

Barbara is said to have joined Spade and Chalice, jocularly known as the Potato Sack Relay Team.

30. Welcome to DU IDemo! That's an excellent link! Here's something from it...
But last week, in a meeting with The Washington Times editorial board, Ken Mehlman, the new chairman of the Republican National Committee, put Jeb back in the race.

Responding to a question, Mehlman mentioned eight potential candidates for 2008: Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, Virginia Sen. George Allen, Colorado Gov. Bill Owens, Arizona Sen. John McCain, Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, George Pataki, Rudy Giuliani - and Jeb Bush.

RNC spokesman Brian Jones insists Mehlman was just speculating about politicians who are being discussed in the media. But Mehlman is not a neutral commentator. He works for George Bush. If the President's brother were really out of the running, the RNC chairman would not mention him.

In fact, the Bushes have been thinking about Jeb's candidacy for years.

One of the main reasons Dick Cheney got a second term was to make sure there would not be an incumbent vice president with presidential ambitions in 2008.

according to stories that were floating around in 1999. W inserting himself into the race and succeeding to the Presidentials seems to have taken the whole family by surprise. Kitty Kelly touched on this in her book. Touched upon how Neill was actually the first choice but now he's too tainted by the S& L scandal, then Jeb because he's "brighter" (oh yeah, the bar is low). W was never expected to be anything but a drunk and a party boy. I guess not even the Bush family thought this country could be that stupid.

56. Bush fatigue will be so great in 2008 that Jeb will be a wash in primaries
Edited on Mon Jan-03-05 06:32 PM by zulchzulu
I can't imagine Repugs being THAT STUPID to nominate another Bush. Perhaps the good news is that the mere idea of another Bush will split the Repug Party even more as they try to see whose God is on whose side.

2008 is pretty far away. Chimpy's numbers will be in the toilet by 2006 unless he allows ANOTHER 9/11 to happen to get groovy poll numbers.

The only thing that makes me nervous is Jeb's PNAC membership and very nice friendships with all the BBV electronic voting machine owners. It might be Hagel/Bush in 2008...that gets the whole party hooked up on BBV friendships.

57. oh puke
they're just making their whole family so damn important.
"oh, we couldn't exist without the bushies" (said with only a hint of sarcasism)
jebbie observes tsunami disaster
and chugs a few beers, looks for a few cute babes
(no wait...the babe thing was neil)
poppy puts his ugly mug on the tube next to clinton (so poppy can appear like an elder statesman instead of a fucking lunatic who jumps out of airplanes at the ripe old age of 100 or however old the old prune is)
and georgie porgie stands sideline, drooling, rubbing his hands (and legs) together (like a damn cricket!), waiting for the blue fairy to show up and finish granting the rest of his wishes.

(sorry--i just had to vent a little)

58. There will be a "Draft Jeb," movement. Jebbie says he won't run..
so they will create a movement, and jeb will say, "Oh gosh...shucks, I guess I have to run now.."

THANKS NADER AND MINIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You killed our democracy!

We may not see democracy in our life times.
"Grandma? is it true that in the past there were rulers not named Bush? And sky?"

62. I said this yesterday
and you can mark my words: it'll be Jeb/Frist in 08.

This is Jeb's first campaign stop. Yeah, he said he's not going to run. Monkeything also said, in 99 and rather emphatically, that he wasn't going to run either. Next thing I knew his hat was in the ring.

Anything the bushes say, assume the OPPOSITE.

He will go to south Asia with a small army of photographers and videographers to capture him with his arm around a small child, pretending to feel the child's pain, etc. He will meet with high level people, tut-tut, and say "wow this is awful" and give some little feel good speech then get his ass back on the plane and fly back to the governor's mansion in Tallahassee.

Then, in 07, you'll see those pictures again to be reminded of how amazingly humanitarian Jebbie is. :puke:

Watch.
