I know this might be a stretch to try to place yourself in an Iraqi's shoes----but would you vote amid the violence? Or even if there wasn't violence, would you vote?

I personally don't think I would. I doubt the results will be legitimate anyway. If Bush can steal elections in the U.S. then it'll be a breeze for him and his gang to fix elections in Iraq!

3. What elections
Like us they have no idea what Bush is babbling about because there's no election in sight. Maybe they figured he was babbling something about Neill not being able to get any more erections in Thailand or something

6. Hell no!
Voting in a stupid election (what's an election?) would be way down my list; after such preoccupations (nice word) as (1) keeping the electricity on (2) ducking stray bullets (3) Feeding my kids (4) Attending funerals (5) Avoiding US troops (I've heard they shoot you if you look crosseyed at them) (6) Keeping my camel groomed (7) Praying that Saddam is somehow restored to the presidency so we can return to normal (8) Looking for work (9) and maybe even worrying about those poor Asians (I have a heart even tho Mr. Bush thinks I am just a loser).
Yes sir - voting (what's voting again?) is way way down my list.

7. how could I vote
if my legs and arms were blown off? With my nose maybe? If I had an extremity left to vote with, I would use it to get the hell out of there.

9. I wouldn't vote if I lost loved ones
If you dropped bombs on my home, killed members of my family, and destroyed my way of living, do you think I'd cooperate with you? Does anyone here honestly think that all these attacks on US troops are only from religious fundamentalists, Ba'athist types, and foreign fighters? A good number of these attacks are coming from folks who lost loved ones as a result of the war.

13. It seems illogical to risk your life and vote.
If throngs turn out anyway like they did in Afghanistan, that would be a good sign.
