What Republinazis would we face 10 to 20 years from now?

For those of you, as well as I who are considered yound compared to the dominant age group here, who do you think would become the next generation of Reich-wingers?

Many of the ones we are facing now are getting old (around their 60s and 70s) so it is obious that a new generation of neo-nazis is being trained. Some of the early 50-year olds(or younger) guys like Jeb Bush, Karl Rove, Michael Powell and William Kristol ought to hang arounf for awhile in the next 10 years. Many of the Rethugs have children so it's possible that 20 years from now, we will be going against guys that bear the last names of those in power now. Another Ashcroft, Bush, Perle, and Robertson.

I much prefer a quick death.

Bush and Cheney have eliminated everyone in their cabinet but the extremist, right wing neoconservatives. Therefore, there really is no one else to blame when the shit finally hits the fan. Even many of the "non-neocon" Republican Party leaders are beginning to seriously worry about the fallout, whenever the Bush Administration goes down.

We're heading straight into a major energy crisis and economic collapse, with one or both taking place sometime between 2005 and 2009. The United States' massive debt accumulation coupled with our increasing dependency on ever diminishing global oil reserves are likely going to be the 1-2 punch combo that will KO this country in its current form.

Or simply put, the United States as a superpower is finished. It might even be finished as a federal republic. Dissolution back into individual states, regional republics, alliances and even city-states is by no means unprecedented or impossible, given the Soviet Union's collapse. Within a few years we won't have the money or the energy resources to maintain the country's current petroleum-dependant infrastructure. Airlines are already going belly-up, and the Airports themselves will not be far behind. There will likely be a major oil shock this year or in 2006 that will return us to the real-life nightmares of the 1970s, where people lined up for blocks to get a gallon or two of rationed gas. You can expect gas prices to increase to $5, $7, $11 or possibly even as high as $15 per gallon, and stay there indefinitely.

There is also a dark side.

It's all very scary...

And I admit that I still am to a significant degree. But the way I look at it, all of what we are about to face must come to pass before the American people will ever awaken from their deep stupor and really begin to appreciate the major mess that we've made of the world. Then perhaps, the healing may begin.

But make no mistake, it will be a very long, very bitter and painful process for us all. Many myths of American superiority and invincibility are going to be utterly and completely destroyed in the coming months and years. Imagine, if you will, all of the people who even today still put full, blind faith and trust in the government and what the Bush Administration has been doing in Iraq and Afghanistan. When the SHTF finally, and the truth becomes as unavoidable as the Sun at noon, many of these people will go into a state of shock and disbelief, as if they had been suddenly betrayed by a close relative or friend. A great deal of anger and upheaval are likely to follow.

On the bright side, it's higly unlikely that anything remotely resembling the "conservative" Republican Party politics of today will exist in 10 years. I suspect by that point, that we'll all have relearned the true definition of the word.

training candidates for local elections like city council or mayor as part of a plan to develop strong candidates for statewide races and then Congressional seats. The party is always looking for Reich wingers who have a deceptive appeal to voters. In all likelihood the Tom DeLay of 2025 already has been recruited and trained and is serving in some local postion.

Running local candidates EVERYWHERE should be a central feature of the 2006 plan. Even if none of them won, the local press coverage of the democratic message alone would be worth it. Assuming, of course, that the democrats can get a coherent message together between now and then.

Considered as so many experiments, it's invaluable for finding out what works, especially in the red states.

They've been working on it for a few decades -- Santorum, Frist -- all the religious, Mammon-worshipping crazies. I believe Milton Friedman started it when he got God all involved in conservative economic policy. The prototype is the complete melding of the two -- have problems identifying whether the rich the neocons or the Religious Right are really controlling the Republican party? I do -- and I've racked my brain over it for a year or so. In 20 years, you won't have to ask, because they'll all be ONE ENTITY. Over the years, the reasonable people will flee as the insanity of it all becomes completely apparent to those with working brain cells, but today's "prototypes" will have re-stocked the pond with their thousands of spawn. They can afford to get slowly more fucking insane, because they will have lots of "minds of the future" to corrupt as the people who remember the enlightenment, empiricism and modernity die off.

I am specifically training my 3-year-old son to corrupt as many young Republican girls and boys as he possibly can, with like Foucault, books on the eightfold path and Frank Zappa. :)
