These are not cuts or bruises. Something else is going on here. My layman's diagnosis is facial herpes.

So, he had a banged up face while he was at Crawford in November 2001. Again at the WH with the pretzel. Again at Crawford while bike riding. And again this week at Crawford.

Do you know ANYONE who bangs up their face as much as this guy? I don't think boxers have as many facial injuries as he does.

Spent the week on a binge. They barely got him sobered up for the Weds speech but did not dare put him on live. As it was he said 35 billion instead of million. I think these Crawford retreats are drinking vacations. I have never seen an adult man who has scratched his face up as much as this guy has in four years. It's bizarre.

When he had the pretzel incident, I thought it looked like someone beat him up. I wondered who it could have been, and if so, is it a regular occurrance? Like maybe Laura, or his *mother* maybe there is violence in the family?? Might explain why he is constantly banged up, esp. in the face. :shrug:

Of course we can expect the press to get right on this and demand a few answers that make sense about what really happened, as they always do. Even the idiots in the WH press corps should be able to put 2 and 2 together and know this is why Bush couldn't come out publically for 4 days about the tsunami disaster and hid in the ranch house.

The President was unavailable to LEAD during the worst natural disaster in our memory - a disaster in which 5000 Americans are still missing, BTW. He appeared last Sunday with a football team. He appeared Wednesday making a pre-taped statement. He appeared yesterday with cheerleaders. What was he doing all week and how did he bang up his face?

I think there must be a medical reason for it rather than alcohol or drug abuse. If he was drinking or using again I think the Secret Service would just put him in a room with no hard or sharp objects.

It's just too weird. Seriously, think of yourself and all your co-workers. How many ugly facial wounds have any of you sustained in the last four years? My guess would be: none. I think he's a falling down drunk. What other explanation could there be?

It looks like he was scratched by someone or something.

I saw some sleuthing by a writer about Bush's condition. The writer supposes that Bush has atrial fibrillation, and pictured with his article a thing called the LifeVest which some people wear who have this ailment. Atrial fibrillation is not an uncommon thing to have, but it's one of the more common causes of strokes.

The Life Vest explains the bulges under his coat during the debates and other times. If the writer is right and it's not a hoax, the Life Vest he included a photo of is an exact match with the bulges.

Not all strokes are major ones. A small stroke is sometimes completely unnoticed, but maybe he had one that was moderate....so he might fall down more, run into doors, and it would explain the spit sometimes people report seeing him spew while speaking.

This is a huge site, and I am new. Sorry if this information has been repeated elsewhere here. If it hasn't, and if people are interested, I'll see if I can still find the link to the story and photos.
