Bill Frist: "We can afford it."
Don't get me wrong. I am all for Tsunami relief. I have donated personally. But when I heard that Frist was quoted as saying that "we can afford" the $350 million in relief money pledged by the U.S., I almost lost my lunch! Truth be told, the U.S. debt is higher than it's ever been, the deficit is higher than it's ever been, the trade deficit is growing, and China owns about 40% of our debt right now and is the largest cause of our current trade deficit. So, for some jerky millionaire Repuke to casually say "We can afford it" is a joke! Truth be told, we CAN'T afford it, but I'm glad we're doing it anyways, regardless of the publicity motives of the pukeheads.

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest and Happy New Year. I have not posted in a while. My dad died a couple of weeks ago and the memorial service is this weekend.

Peace,
AL

Meh, what's another $350? Just a pebble in an ocean. I mean, our country can't even afford a gumball at this point.

4. That's exactly what a college student with a credit card would say
I have no money, but I want to go out.. Hey, "I can afford it now!"

we can't afford it and neither can the other countries who'll not be receiving "aid"(non-tsunami related) Sudan for example.
