2. He's is getting some real digs in.
Doing a pretty good job, getting some lines in there about plastic turkeys, * not mentioning OBL. Tweety is very friendly?? Good interview.

6. And now there might be more of a liberal voice getting out.
AA & Franken are going head to head with Limbaugh in DC starting next week. I hope he rocks.

7. "Tweety" was squeamish with the "liar" label for Ru$hbo.
However, Al stood his ground with facts. You know, I have gotten where I really like Al Franken. I did a USO tour to Santo Domingo and the Dominican Republic during the revolution down there (1965). Al is exactly right about the troops' acceptance of entertainers. The USO was worried that our show, mainly a guy jazz group, would not fly.

Actually, when we landed at San Isidro in a USAF C-130 the band of the week before was waiting to get on and out. In truth, they were "loaded" on the Herky-Bird. It was "Paul Revere and the Raiders" and they had been drunk for a week. They, evidently, had not fulfilled their obligation vis-a-vis the USO on their show tour. The USO was pissed.

We were totally portable and totally acoustic. We did shows all over the D-R end of the island all week. We got great reviews, even without "girls."

Of course, a couple of years later I was in Vietnam as a pilot. That is another story that many here have already heard. Oy!
