Here we go! AP: Bush to Seek Cuts in Medicaid, Benefits
Bush to Seek Cuts in Medicaid, Benefits

By ALAN FRAM, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) is readying a new budget that would carve savings from Medicaid and other benefit programs, congressional aides and lobbyists say, but it is unclear if he will be able to push the plan through the Republican-run Congress.

White House officials are not saying what Bush's $2.5 trillion 2006 budget will propose saving from such programs, which comprise the biggest and fastest growing part.

Starve that beast so the rich can have that tax cut they "deserve!" Hey Chimp voters -- still think it's "your money??"

6. Then they'll blame the Democrats for the deficits
and claim Democrats are for "bloated big government spending." As usual. When Democrats suggest raising the wealthy's taxes, they'll claim they're "tax and spend" and "never met a tax they didn't like," etc. etc... Typical!!

13. You nailed it sparky ! It's all the progressives fault (when it's really
the Republican globalizers who are cashing in on outsourcing and stripping US workers of any benefits they have) !

5. He wants to kill all the social programs.
I hope some Bush voters get slapped around by this. Too bad Kerry voters have to suffer too.

10. Doesn't Work That Way. They're Going "Faith-Based"
which means you get help, or don't, depending on what religion you are.

Kerry voters are sinners, thus sayeth the newly-established state church,
so no help for them.

12. This is the Big Enchilada ! Social Security was just a warm-up act

Globalizing corporations have been dumping health and pension benefits from US employees in order to 'better compete' with low wage foreign labor markets.

This has been the excuse at least for the corps to outsource and to drop healthcare/pension responsibilities onto the individual, as a sort of social darwinist requirement.

See July 2004 Businessweek article 'The Benefits Trap' where they spell it out: http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/ content/04_29/b3892001_mz001.htm

""Perhaps most important, in the global economy, long-established U.S. companies are competing against younger rivals here and abroad that pay little or nothing toward their workers' retirement, giving the older companies a huge incentive to dump their plans""

Ahhhh, it's the Global Economy causing this...that's why they just HAVE TO lay off the US workers (with their benefits you see) and import workers on visas H1B and L1 etc ! Sure they do, since 2000
"Nation's immigrants account for bulk of labor force growth since 2000"

The globalizers have us all over a Race to the Bottom barrel !
