1. No one votes for Vice President!
That's the problem I see with this binary poll in which only who's on top of the ticket is the only choice.

Put someone like Bayh or Biden on the same ticket as Clark, Boxer, or even Dean, and you will hear the loud sounds of barfing all over this board.

2. LOL.
True.

I like Boxer. I just don't think, given the political climate, that a woman could win. And I'm a woman!

3. Yes, just Boxer or just Clark would have had the same essential meaning
Except maybe there's an affective difference by pairing them, as if you're not rejecting one by choosing the other.

For the masochists, how about a double dose:

Biden/Bayh

Bayh/Biden

4. I would far rather have Boxer for Prez than Clark, but paternalistic
war loving America would be more comfy with Clark. Hinges on whether he would have the courage to say the war was wrong, not just 'fought wrong'.

5. If I leaned towards Boxer, it would because I agreed with her on issues
Clark, however, has charisma. And he is hardly disagreeable to me. It's hard to anticpate exactly how issues of war and peace will appear in 2008.

6. Clark has repeatedly said the war was wrong!
He was one of the candidates, along with Dean, Kucinich and Sharpton, who dared to dissent.

My fondest dream is that General Clark becomes president one day. I'd love to have Boxer on board as well, but Wes should be at the helm, imho.

8. Richard perle disagrees with ya - that was BEFORE war started

"So I think General Clark simply doesn't want to see us use military force and he has thrown out as many reasons as he can develop to that but the bottom line is he just doesn't want to take action. He wants to wait."

Paul Wellstone too

But as General Wes Clark, former Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Europe has recently noted, a premature go-it-alone invasion of Iraq "would super-charge recruiting for Al Qaida."

I could go on forever, but your fingers are in the years and you go

7. I think if America was smart enough to go with a Clark/Boxer ticket,
Edited on Mon Jan-24-05 05:33 PM by FrenchieCat
Much of our problems would be solved pretty quickly.

Both are honest and outspoken.
Both would rather represent the people than special interest.
Both are fiesty and strong.
Both support basically the same values
Both are leaders in their own rights.
Neither mince words.
Both take principle stance even as they realize it may hurt them personally and/or professionally.
The Right is terrified of each pretty equally....witnessed by the fevor in which they have gone after each one.

Advantage of Clark at top of the ticket:
Clark has Executive experience (as CiC)
broad national appeal
Top Expertise in National Security (if you think this won't be an issue in 2008, think again).
Clark connotates strength, moderation and defies partisan labeling.
Clark is from the South
Clark has not votes to smear
Clark won a war and negotiated a peace
Clark is a common man who realized the American Dream all while serving his country. Has a compelling life story.
Clark is charismatic
Clark brings in the moderates, the disaffected conservatives, and many liberals as well....meaning that as President he would act of the good of all of the people and would unite our country once more.
Clearly speak the Democratic language using conservative words
Clark doesn't owe anyone anything.
Clark has guts.
Clark is a liberal perceived as a moderate

Advantages of Boxer at the bottom of the ticket
Boxer has great Legislative experience
Boxer is domestic issue savvy
Boxer is a Fiery speaker
Boxer is a partisan and proud of it
Boxer would bring in the liberals and women voters
Boxer won't back down on her voting history
Boxer is plain spoken in talking to blue America
Boxer as VP could advance to the presidency from the VP seat...which, IMO, is a better bet in getting a woman President in the relatively near future.
Boxer is attractive no matter what one might think of her
Boxer hasn't been in the Senate "too" long. She still has a fresh style about her and not so many votes.
Boxer has guts.
Boxer is a liberal perceived as such

Senator Boxer was at a Clark fundraiser last year, here in Northern California (took place in Piedmont, CA)....so they know each other well, and Boxer obviously supported Wes Clark enough to show up.
Wes Clark had a pretty large following in California....and was the hope of many Dems......including Jerry Brown who I saw at another ClarkFundraiser in San Francisco.

11. I agree, while I like Boxer a lot she would not play well in Peoria.

Richardson is a better choice for VP. We need to win Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada. Clark/Richardson would be the perfect combo.
