Democratic "leadership" courage once again in short supply.
Apparently lying to American citizens about reasons for war is no more than a pesky little glitch for most Democratic leaders. Even Hillary, our party`s new G.I. Jane, was willing to wink and nod her way to a yes vote for Condi today. Like the framers of the Constitution left a message for her in a time capsule....We were kidding about the checks and balances thing. Maybe next week she`ll have a unity luncheon with Limbaugh.

It`s downright pathetic. Men and women are being sent to Iraq in droves so Bush can improve his bio and for once erase that underachiever thing. Even God wants him to kill, so who could argue with that? Bush is dripping in "moral authority" now thanks to black-boot Republicans and Democratic leaders eager to prove how tough they are on terrorism and how serious they are about national security.

Nearly half the National Guard force in my state is in Iraq, in training for duty in Iraq or on stand-by with their duffle bags packed. Nearly half. Today 30-something Marines were killed over there. How the hell much longer are our Democratic leaders going to nod in approval as Americans...and others...get blown to bits?

I don`t know about you, but I hardly recognize my country or my party anymore.

1. They haven't yet realized the seriousness of the situation...
wrapped in their comfortable cocoons in Washington.

2. Politicos follow, they do not lead
So if yuo are expecting any leaderhip from politicos you will be disapointed...

You want your country back, it will take YOU and ME and many other doing many a things

Demonstratiing (don't epect the stenography corp to show up)

Infitrating the Democractic party, going to meetings, getting elected to local offices.

It will take YOU AND ME... and everybody on this board. Don't expect Hillary to follow, or any of them... they are too invested in this crossing of the rubicon. As is the American republic that the Founding Fathers envisioned is DEAD.... but they also left us some other guidance for this moment... raed the preface of the declaration of Independence, or Jeferson's words on trees, liberty and watering such trees.

We are at that moment... so it is up to us to decide do we want it bad enough? If we do... it may very well mean personally watering those trees.

3. So true!
I begin to feel like 'nothing'...and I mean 'nothing' matters any longer. Bush and Co can lie, cheat and deceive, and it's 'okay'! I haven't recognized this country and my party for some time now. My party are nothing less than enablers for the Bush agenda!

I would like the names of the 13 Dems who voted against Condi. Can't seem to find that anywhere.

I had gone to the site for the Senate to find not only Nay but also Yea and non-votes, but this vote has not been posted there yet. The two web sites for House and Senate were given in this thread:

Thanks again. So bitter not even to see Obama or Clinton. I wonder what the stories there are. And of course, not a single Republican.

4. They have a cunning plan
I think the Dems have realised they can't reason with meat heads so they're trying another tactic. Appeal to the brainless moran gung ho dimwits and get their votes. After the Dems get elected it'll be easy to manipulate the morans so the Dems can get their policies through. Let's face it, the morans actually believe that ** cares about their well being. If they can be conned into thinking that it'll be easy for the Dems to manipulate the thickos and get their policies implemented.

Tongue firmly planted in cheek.
