Female torturers use fake "menstrual" blood - story on AAR right now..
Mark Moran and Mark Riley on AARs Morning Sedition have been reporting all morning that female interrogators at Guantanamo have been used to wear scanty clothing, thongs, etc. or appear nude to sexually stimulate Muslim male prisoners who are not supposed to look upon women in this way because of religious beliefs. According to the story the women have rubbed their body parts on the men and behaved in lewd fashion to break down the prisoners.

These female interrogators supposedly rub their own genitals and then rub red ink on the faces of the prisoners making them believe it is menstrual blood. According to Muslim law, to touch a woman during menses is forbidden and makes them unclean for prayer. Then they turn off the water in the cells making it impossible for the men to wash.
One prisoner is reported to have broken his ankle that was shackled while trying to resist being touched in this way.

While there are probably plenty of American men who would enjoy this kind of "interrogation" it is truly a form of torture for those whose beliefs are different.

Is the military leadership sick or what?

1. Please read "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich". We are
repeating much of what transpired in Germany prior to and during WWII.

2. Do you have to be such an ass?
"While there are probably plenty of American men who would enjoy this kind of "interrogation" it is truly a form of torture for those whose beliefs are different."

Yes, American males love being sexually humiliated. There's always someone who posts this crap. Will you start telling us how Americans like prison rape, too, so they might not understand how another culture wouldn't enjoy it as much?

Is it insufficient to simply deplore torture without repeating these endless cheap shots?

Unbelievable.

4. Just being realistic.
You do know how this will play out by the time it gets to Rush, Hannity, et al?

Have you forgotten the "fraternity hazing" spin offered by Zell Miller and others?

I think the OP was plenty clear in its condemnation of such techniques. But we might as well be prepared for the way this will most certainly be spun.

I for one believe techniques were chosen deliberately not just to humiliate devoute Muslims, but to give Freeperville something to cheer.

8. Great. So lets repeat it for them
Rush would be blubbering like a baby if he was subjected to this kind of treatment.

It wasn't being "realistic", it was being snotty.

6. Ever hear of scarcasm?
I am pretty sure that was a scarcastic comment.

9. Do you have to take it so "personally?"
Edited on Fri Jan-28-05 08:44 AM by itzamirakul
I deliberately wrote "there probably are". I did not accuse ALL American men of feeling this way...but one thing is for sure, the sex and porno business is alive and well in America and I don't think that you can deny that.

Furthermore, my reason for including such a disclaimer is to offset any jokesters who might have wanted to comment on such treatment.

So before you call anyone an "Ass" go look in your mirror. There you will see the only ass you will ever know.

Edit: to correct my own quote

10. Yes, doubtless there are Iraqi men who like being put into
naked pyramids, too. What do they have to do with anything?

There's one on every thread -- this time we didn't even make it past the first post.

Further, I do not believe your "offset" excuse for a second.

I don't give a fat flying fcuk what you believe about my disclaimer line. Your opinion and 75 cents will buy a cup of coffee.

13. Okay,
so now you're saying there's something not quite right about an American who thinks forced sexual humiliation is torture -- it must be some kind of hangup.

You just get worse and worse.

5. Did I say the story was false?
No, I simply find it unbelievable that we can't hear a torture story without a reference to how much Americans love being sexually humiliated.

Sigh.

11. This makes me ill.
I don't care what you call it; abuse, torture, humiliation, it's disgusting beyond belief, and reflects something deeply sick and corrupt about American culture.
