Hand grenades, homemade bombs and mines are among items in an arsenal confiscated from a hospital worker's home.

Randall "Randy" Todd remained jailed Friday in lieu of $200,000 bond on charges of aggravated assault and assault on a peace officer.

Police said the 51-year-old employee of Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas was accused of shooting a construction worker who was in a portable toilet at a construction site across the street, then attacking a law officer during a later investigation.

Napalm and silencers were also seized Thursday morning. Police diverted traffic through the neighborhood for several hours while the explosives and weapons were recovered. They included eight hand grenades, blasting cords, napalm and Claymore fragmentation mines, silencers for pistols and rifles and other explosive materials, police said.

What is it with the people in this state?? Am I the only one with no drugs, guns, or grenades laying around the house? Geez..I get nervous when my kids leave scissors laying around on the floor.

When West Texas District Attorney Rick Roach was arrested at the Gray County courthouse on methamphetamine charges, federal agents found two handguns in his brief case.

A search of his courthouse office, home and an apartment, all in Pampa, turned up 35 more guns, along with what appeared to be a stash of cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana, according to search warrant inventory lists obtained by The Associated Press. The weapons included shotguns, revolvers and semi-automatic pistols and rifles.

Roach, who was elected in 2000 after running on a tough-on-drugs campaign, is accused of possessing methamphetamines, possession of one ounce each of methamphetamine and cocaine with intent to distribute, and unlawful possession of weapons by a drug addict. If convicted on all counts, he faces up to 51 years in prison and $2.5 million in fines.

At the office, agents said they found 20 handguns, a rifle and a shotgun; a syringe; two digital scales and a zippered pouch containing suspected cocaine, methamphetamines and marijuana. The pouch was found in an office restroom used by Roach and other employees.

Under the power granted to the federal government in the interstate commerce clause of the Constitution.

Anyone can buy any of those things in most states, but if you skip the required paperwork, licensing, and background checks you are in violation of many laws and regulations.

The Second Amendment doesn't allow anything. All it does is restrict the federal government from infringing on the right to keep and bear arms.

Everything that has not been disallowed by due process of law is allowed.

And regulations for safe transportation and storage of bombs.

Those fucks are everywhere in the US. Funny though,for all the guns,grenades etc...they never want to sign up for a real battle. Just the saber rattling at home.

Send in the Daisy Cutters, ignore the collateral damage and deploy what's left of our National Guard/Ready Reserves...Texas looks like a 'gathering' threat to our national security.

Half-ton of pot found on South Padre Island


Law officers have seized more than half-a ton of marijuana hidden in sand dunes on South Padre Island.

The Coast Guard today announced authorities confiscated 20 bales of marijuana at the tourist-popular island.

The Coast Guard was notified yesterday by Cameron County park police of suspicious activity on the beach.

A drug-sniffing dog and Coast Guard personnel searched the beach for possible contraband hidden in the dunes (at a site five miles north of beach Access Six).

Prosecutors have dismissed the drug case against a high school science teacher after determining police lacked probable cause to enter his garage where marijuana was found.

Philip Blake Sills, 45, has been on paid leave since his November felony arrest after Fort Worth police entered his unlocked garage while chasing a truancy suspect.

After finding "large green leafy plants hanging from the rafters," police obtained a search warrant and found more marijuana in the garage and house, an amount totaling about a pound, according to the police report.

The head of a multistate drug ring that paid a voodoo priestess for protection from federal agents has been sentenced to life in prison.

John Timothy Cotton, 39, was convicted last August of leading a Houston-based organization that netted an estimated $43 million over 10 years, dealing crack cocaine in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and Kansas. He was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Tucker Melancon.

Most of the drugs came from Colombia and the Dominican Republic, where Cotton shipped at least $500,000 on one occasion in a car stuffed with cash, U.S. Attorney Donald Washington said. Cotton and other members of the drug ring paid thousands of dollars for voodoo hexes against federal agents and for protection, Washington said.

Melancon also ordered 10-year sentences for Cotton's wife, Trina Rauchell Jackson, 32, and Cotton's father-in-law, Otis Charles Jackson, 56.
