I got a "push call" at home last night from some douchebag repug
congreesman from Oklahoma re gay marriage. These fucking people are so damn ignorant and divisive. You'd think he should be worrying about the illegal war, the shitty economy, the lack of honesty, integrity, and accountability in government and society. He should also spend a few minutes looking in the mirror and examining his conscience regarding his support of the chimp and his lying ass gang of thieves.

1. What did you tell the caller?
I'm torn on things like that, since I do market research for a living, and have a lot of sympathy for the poor phone person, who didn't book the job.

On the other hand, it would be tempting to say what you said in your post (if you could get it in before they hang up)

5. It was a prerecorded message which allowed to touch 1 to speak with
a live person to contribute. When I touched one it dialed a woman whom I asked to identify herself which she did and then I asked her who paid for this and she became aware that I was in no way going to support the hate so she asked out right whether or not I was going to contribute and she hung up on me before I could tell her what I thought of this tactic.

2. I have had a few push calls before. I just go opposite.
Like, if they ask, "Would you be more likely to vote for Candidate Smith if he was accused of having sex with farm animals while fathering illegitimate, gay, bi-racial children?" I generally say, "Of course! Who wouldn't?"

6. the prerecorded announcement said that they were "three children" who
were calling on behalf of repug congressman from Ok to stop ACLU from promoting gay marriage amendment. Hateful divisive politics!

let them ramble on while you say "uh huh" in agreement. When it comes time to "donate", tell them that you don't
have any credit cards, but really do want to help spread the word, and would be happy to mail them a check.

8. Here's another idea
At the conclusion, tell them you've recorded this entire phone call and it should be on the Al Franken show soon...

9. Yup.
Eat their time. Eat their bandwidth. Eat their postage. Then tell 'em, "eat me."

10. There is a reason they're making such a big deal about gay marriage
It's actually pretty smart of their strategists.

It's a distraction issue. There is a solid part of their core who can be distracted by this issue, so they won't pay attention to anything else.

11. Absolutely. Pull out the hate group, then no one will worry about which
journalists are bought.
