Clark: "we've got a new axis of evil"
<snip>

In his town hall meeting, Clark excoriated Bush over Iraq and the deficit. "Two years after President Bush coined the term 'axis of evil,' we've got a new axis of evil, and it's one our president himself created," he said. "It's an axis of fiscal policy that threatens our future, foreign policy that threatens our security, and domestic policy that puts families dead last."

8. We can use humor
to beat them. As John Kerry said the other night. George bush*, we are going to you remove you from power, send you back to Texas and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

2. Strong words
Way to cut through the clutter, Wes. And he's absolutely right. The Bush tax cut is a fiscal disaster of epic proportions.

13. "Bring it on", for one.
It was quite prevalent in his post-caucus speech Monday night.

10. YES!!!!
Someone put a kick up for this one please.

I am very excited to hear that the democrats are going to go after Bush now and not each other. I hope these new soundbites work their way into the American conscience and resonate loudly. As an ABB, I don't care who says it, as long as it gets said and gets heard.

Ooooh! I'm excited. I think Iowa has helped refocus our candidates and the race is going to start to get the attention of even the staunchest Shrub supporters!

11. Totally excellent!
The General had a slow start in campaign speeches initially, but he's he's come around to being quite adept at pointing our george's hypocrisy and the lunacy of this mis-Administration.

17. Clark doesn't have a chance in a general election
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 10:55 AM by tryanhas
I'm sorry, but it's true.

Any candidate that runs a campaign that is backwards looking instead of forward looking is toast. Next to Dean, Clark's campaign is the most, "I-HATE-BUSH-DON'T-YOU-TOO" campaign out there.

That is a recipe for disaster.

Secondly, any candidate who runs a campaign, and history proves this, that is centered around a war, will not win. 1, it's once again, backwards looking. Two, it tells the american people that they are simple-minded, because they supported the war. If the majority of the people in this country support the war, then how in the world do you think you are going to win a general election?

It's just dumb to think you can.

Third. Clark doesn't have a clue about domestic policy. I don't care about what his handlers write down for him. He is not an effective debater on this issue, and the Democrats need to nominate someone who can argue on this front and make Bush look like the fool that he is when it comes to domestic policy. Wes Clark can't even beat Bush in a debate centered around domestic policy, and that's not the type of candidate that Democrats need.

Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 11:17 AM by in_cog_ni_to
Obviously, you know NOTHING about Wes Clark. Wanna see his resume?

General Wesley K. Clark
• West Point Valedictorian
• Oxford University Masters Degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics
• Rhodes Scholar
• Vietnam Veteran
• Four Star General
• NATO Supreme Allied Commander (SACEUR) - Kosovo
• Board Chairman Wavecrest
Technologies
• CNN Analyst
• Author

I'll throw THIS in as a BONUS.....

How does General Wesley Clark compare to legendary West Point Generals? See for yourself.

1. General Robert E. Lee - Class of 1829 #2 in class of 46
(Civil War)
2. General Ulysses S. Grant - Class of 1843 #21 in class of 39
(Civil War)
3. General John J. Pershing - Class of 1886 #30 in class of 76
(World War I)
4. General Douglas MacArthur - Class of 1903 #1 in class of 94
(World War II + Korea)
5. General George S. Patton -Class of 1909 #46 in class of 153
(World War II)
6. General Dwight Eisenhower - Class of 1915 #61 in class of 164
(World War II)
7. General William Westmoreland - Class of 1936 #112 in class of 276
(Vietnam)
8. General Norman Schwarzkopf - Class of 1956 #43 in class of 480
(Dessert Storm)
9. General Wesley Clark - Class of 1966 #1 in class of 579
(NATO/Kosovo)

Definitely one of the smartest generals in U.S. history.

And, please, let me just add THIS....Wes Clark is a MASTER debater. He was on the debate team at West Point, where he graduated #1 in his class.
Bush, the chimp, doesn't have a chance in hell against Clark in ANY kind of debate. It's absurd to think he does.

25. Clark is only a recipe
for disaster if you're hoping to get bush* re-selected. And Clark would win a debate with bush* no matter what the topic at hand. Clark can think on his feet and not put his foot in his mouth at the same time. :)

26. A Bonus
We need to win this election and get rid of the shrub. It would be a great relief to send * back to Texas.

A bonus will be watching a man like Clark debating the half wit in power.

Imagine:

a decorated general vs a deserter
a rhodes scholar vs an idiot
a thinker with sound policies vs ??(how to describe this?)
a self made man vs the silver spoon

Sometimes, watching a one-sided match is good for the spirit

Hey , where's that big push we've been hearing about?
Isn't the General supposed to show his overwhelming strength in NH?

Or have we pushed that out to another primary
