CNN: "Do the Dems' opinions even matter? Technically, no"
That was the exchange between Judy Woodruff and some other CNN regular, a man, I forget his name.

Now they're talking about freedom on the march in Iraq and flashing quotes from Chimp's speech yesterday.

The corporate media is a complete disgrace. It gets worse every day. What's worse is that many people are fooled by it.

3. My hsuband and I are getting closer and closer to going to a country where
our opinions do matter.

If they cut health care and social security, we're gone.

This administration will either kill us or brankrupt us. We can't raise our kids like that.

Why should we run? But then, when the house is on fire, you can only save so much before you gotts get out of the burning building before it collaspses in on itself.

12. I'm gonna stay and fight
I still work 200 feet from where the "terrorists" hit on 9/11 and I'm not running from these Bush terrorists either.

But I think alot about moving to Ireland, France or Italy.

18. We go back and forth.
It's nothing we're going to just up and do. We have had severe set backs directly because of * . We may have to leave just for $$$$$ reasons alone. If we lose health care, we'll never be able to afford the medicines we must have.

9. I would say that's a fairly legitimate statement
Technically, the Democrats opinions do not matter in the House. The Republicans can pass anything they want without the Democrats. I think that you're taking that quote out of context.

16. more than "fairly legitimate," it's a completely accurate statement . . .
which makes the Democrats' refusal to take on BushCo all the more puzzling and all the more infuriating . . . what the hell are they afraid of? . . . that they won't be listened to? . . .

h-e-l-l-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!?! . . . time to wake up and smell the coffee, Dems . . . you're completely irrelevant NOW, and no matter what you do, you can't get any more irrelevant . . . don't you think it's time to fight the bastards? . . .

or are your lips so firmly attached to the corporate teat that a bunker buster couldn't remove them? . . .

17. Well, it's true
We're completely out of power. The GOP rules like a dictatorship - it's a tyranny of the 51% lording it over the other 49%. Democratic theorists long noted this contradiction in democracy - the way it could lead to a tyranny of the majority. Of course, I'm not advocating dictatorship - I'm fully a democrat and democracy is easily the best form of government. But like any system, it can be abused. Right now it's being abused. And we're unfortunately the minority "half".

Essentially they're correct. When it comes to drafting legislation or passing bills, Democrats do not matter at all in the current climate.

...stupid or ignorant. Saying that the opinions of Democrats don't matter is admitting that we no longer live in a Democracy where POWER IS SHARED among the parties and branches of government.

25. When Dems had the WH and Congress, CNN gave the GOP as many mics they
wanted. Hell, they chipped in to help the GOP suppress any Democratic agenda.

Now, they gloat...because they are GOP tools and have been for over a decade.

28. That's a total misrepresentation
Judy Woodruff brought that up in context of the exit strategy, because it doesn't have anything to do with congress. They even talked for a little about how when it comes to domestic issues, the Dems still have some power because they need 60 votes to get anything through the senate, but when it comes to Iraq the Democrats really have no say.

And its true. People here need to learn to understand the differnece between reporting an unpleasant truth and real bias.
