Bush rips off Kerry's idea for military death gratuity, exactly as
...Kerry proposed it during his campaign months ago. Back in the summer of '04. Hope Bush raids more of Kerry's ideas. Even if Bush claims credit, Kerry's plans and proposals were great.

Here is a snip from Kerry's website, where he proposed what Dubbya is yapping about today and claiming credit for:

from Kerry's website
http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/national_security/milfamilies.html

Assistance When A Service Member Has Been Killed

Increase The Death Gratuity. When a service member is injured or killed in the line of duty, military families deserve full, complete, and timely notification. No other moment in life will ever carry such pain, and the nation owes surviving families its highest respect and best efforts. As president, John Kerry will work to have a $250,000 gratuity added to the Service Members Group Life Insurance if a service member is killed in a combat zone.

1. Rummy and "we should be out in 4 years"
Now a death gratuity.

What else have they parrotted. I think Oliphant had an article on it in Boston.com a while back.

2. Pirated, not parroted.
These boys don't just repeat, they steal. They are thieves. They will take whatever isn't nailed down and return for the nails.

But first they'll pass a law making it legal.

3. Don't forget "and botch the job, besides"
They'll steal a good idea and fuck it up. "No Child Left Behind" wasn't a bad idea, but they fucked it up by not funding it.

Or they steal a good idea just so they can say, "But we're doing that already."

Someone commented during the campaign that Kerry would say something, then about a month later it would appear as a Bush Co. idea. It was like Kerry was an unpaid consultant for Bush.

If I recall correctly, more money for security for our ports was just such an instance where Kerry said it, then after an interval, it appeared as a Bush idea.

4. We all knew he would
I always felt, the main reason Kerry didn't make a bunch of "Big Idea" speeches during the campaign, was because he was afraid of giving * a bunch of good ideas, that he would turn around a take credit for, BEFORE the election.:grr:

5. In the Dem response tomorrow
night they ought to say that they are happy that * has agreed to Senator Kerry's campaign suggestion. It ought to be stated in a public forum so * doesn't look like he actually had an original idea.

6. Kerry ought to give * a signed copy of his book. (audio book?)
and tell him to feel free to implement any of his ideas.

Of course, that assumes * reads, which he does not do. I guess Kerry would have to make his book into an audio book, so * could benefit from it.

Just as a side note, REPEATEDLY throughout the campaign * said things Kerry had already said. The media ignored it when Kerry said it, and lauded it when * said it as his own idea. Then they went on about how Kerry had "no clear plans"...
