Pataki's Double Standard
Yesterday, New York Governor George Pataki critized a college for allowing a professor who questioned the innocence of the people who died in the World Trade Center. The professor claimed the people were not innocent in that they did not know what their country was doing. He claimed that they should have known what their country was doing. The professor made his comments in an editoral written shortly after the September 11th attacks. I do not defend what the professor said. My problem is with the fact that as for as I know Pataki has never critized a college that asked Ann Coulter, who claimed that the only bad thing about the Okaloma City bombing was that it did not take place at the New York Times Building, to speak at their college. I contend that if Pataki is going to critize college for asking people to speak at their college he should critize those colleges that ask Republicans who have said bad things to speak at their college.

1. It's not just Pataki with that double standard...
It's the entire republican party.

3. First of all, Hamilton College is a private institution.
They can invite Saddam Hussein to speak there if they want to.

Second, they un-invited him after much non-Pataki-related outrage was expressed.

Finally, Hamilton College students are smart enough to recognize bullshit when they hear it. I should know; Hamilton College is practically in my back yard.

4. Pataki is a tool. must need some RNC money for his campaign.
Sometimes he barks louder, sometimes softer - always does what he's told.
